I have to say this is certainly a wonderful plate of dry hand made noodles. It is absolutely delicious and its choke full of ingredients too! Although it has been a few months since i last had this, I still crave for it once in a while. Maybe I should go try to soup version soon. The noodles are cooked al dente, the mince pork is very well marinated. Comes with a pretty looking egg, 2 fried wantons, lots of veggies and finally topped with some ikan bilis. NICE!

Quite generous OK Aug 03, 2012

Had Defa for lunch on a sunday afternoon. One of the few stalls without a queue. Overall I felt that they were pretty generous with the portion of bee hoon. For $2.50 you get a decent amount of ingredients too. Especially the crispy thingy mock duck. I had the bee hoon with curry gravy, really should have added the 'normal' non-curry time instead. Might be because it is already late morning, the curry gravy was a little 'sour'. It would otherwise have been a great meal though.

A dozen of oysters at Fremantle Seafood Market courtesy of Dining City Singapore. Dining City Singapore was giving out dining vouchers and I was given vouchers worth $40. Had to spend it in 1 day, so my brilliant mother suggested that we drop by Fremanatle for the oysters afte dinner. A dozen of oysters here cost $38++. Are the oysters good? Definitely. Each oysters are plumb and succulent. Very fresh, very delicious. I can easily pollish off 1 dozen by myself.

I had higher expectations Cry Jul 30, 2012

Hmmm this is one those breakfast stalls that i frequent. It used to be much better when it first started, standards however ard dropping. Maybe it is a sunday thing, but what happens is that the carrot cake a pre-fried. When i ordered (not the first time) my black carrot cake, instead of seeing it being fried on the spot, it was already pre fried and placed in a packet. All the guy said was, 'We just fried this.' I dont care whether he just tried or tried 10minutes ago, the fact is that the carrot cake was no longer warm when we open up the packet. Sighh what a disappointment, what a waste of my calories. I should have order the 'white' version which he was currently frying. K so i guess warning... place your orders depending on what he is frying at the moment.
To reiterate... It used to be much much better....

Oh in case anyone is curious about the price, it is $2.50

Sinful! OK Jul 28, 2012

Obviously Manhattan fish market is not the place to go when you are on a diet. Everything is fried fried fried. Nope not that I am complaining. In fact I think the food or rather the platter for 2 is not that bad. I mean it is not fantastic, at the end of the day everything taste the same cos it is all FRIED. But i guess thats the reason why it is sometimes quite... shiok to indulge in something like that. Well if you are too overly worried about your health, you could ask them for lots of garlic. Gosh the garlic and mayo do make the meal complete and sinfully good. I repeat it is not fantastic, but not too bad either.
