Fine dining at the Jewel Box OK Jul 19, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Restaurant

Sky dining at the Jewel Box was quite an experience. Food is super expensive but what you are paying for is more of the experience - Eating while looking from above the sky and viewing the cable cars outside the window.

Comes in 3 course - Starter which is just mushroom soup, Main course which is the beef or fish of your choice, and the dessert is tiramisu which I think is the best out of all.

Beef was not fantastic at all - Only 3 small pieces of meat and my friends claims that it tasted like it just came out of a can. But it is kinda tender and the taste is alright. Would be better if it taste less like a can food.

Tiramisu is nice, was served in a wine glass. But i did not finish all because it has more cream then the actual cake itself.

Overall experience is good, but far too expensive.

Nice desserts at MOF Smile Jul 19, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

This is my first time trying MOF. I have always wanted to try their desserts cos their images always look so so good.

For the main course, I tried their beef curry out of curiosity. But I shared it with a friend because one dish like this already cost $18+, too much for one person to pay for it. I thought the portion would be alot for the price like this, but no. The portion is so little and the curry gravy is too little to eat it with rice. It seems more like for people to eat for fun.

For dessert, I had their famous red bean with rice dumpling. I topped it up with nuts, because it is only with an additional cost of only 40cents.
Red bean, again, is very little. Not enough to share it with friend. Rice dumpling is surprisingly nice to chew. Very springy.

Overall. Food is alright, but portion is too little. A little bit pricey.

Good cheesecake at cottage pies OK Jul 19, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

This is the first time I tried cottage pie. I have heard about it, about how nice it is, and I thought I should try it too.

I fancy cheesecake, and i think this cheesecake is alright. I like it that it is not too damp and the cheesey taste is not so strong. I like the fluffyness of the cake as well, but I dont love it either. Perhaps it's the taste and perhaps it's because I did not eat it while it is cold. I ate it at room temperature.

I dont like the strawberry jam on top though. I scrap it all away. But it's not too bad because it is not very sweet. It's just my personal preference that I dont not like jam.

Overall is not too bad. But i highly recommend to eat it while it's chilled. The taste will be different.

Quality sushi at sakae sushi Smile Jul 14, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

On mother's day, I brought my family to sakae sushi to eat because my mum likes to eat sushi, but didnt get to eat that often.

We chose to go ala carte because I think it is more worth the money than the buffet. We can order red plates and even noodles, whereas buffet is mainly restricted to the basic sushi and those on the conveyor belt.

The colours of the plates are nice for photography and I like the idea of stacking the plates. It is a fun experience with your family and friends. I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well.

My favourite is the chawamushi. I had 2 to 3 cups of them I remembered. It was served in a nice cup and it is always warm, never cold. Love the taste and the ingredients inside. They have a few flavours, but all of them are nice..

Will go back there again!

Spuddies- not veyr nice fries Cry Jul 14, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Stall / Kiosk

This is probably the worse fries I have ever tasted. Even a McDonald's fries that is delivered to your house cold taste better than this.

I decided to try this fries when it was having a promotion. One classic fries (with toppings) + drink = $3. I was planning to go somewhere to buy other fries for around $2 but I decided to try this out since it was havin a promotion.

But it was so bad.
I chose cheese as my topping and I saw her pouring quite abit onto my fries. But when i tried it, i couldnt seem to taste the cheese at all. ALl the cheese seems to be either diluted, but it is being absorbed into the fries. Despite eating it straight after I have bought it, it is too soggy. I love soggy fries, but this is simply too wet to be called french fries.

I did not finish my fries and I threw it away.
The ice tea has a bit of bitterness to it too, despite the sugar. I have no idea why.

I might not eat this again.
