Cantonese style porridge Smile Apr 15, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

Whenever we have craving for Cantonese style porridge, my wife and I will definitely have this stall in mind. The thick texture of porridge is just right and so smooth, easy to swallow. Whichever ingredients you prefer to put into the porridge, I have tried all different types and none of them fail my taste buds Hahaha.... Thus being greedy 2 weeks ago, I ordered a packet of porridge mix with ALL ingredients ($5) for myself and a packet of fish porridge for my wife ($3.50).
As usual, we left the stall to purchase food from other stalls as it would be at least 15-20 min wait for the porridge. However to our disappointment, we realised that we were given other people's orders instead - 2 packets of pork porridge. This means we have paid EXTRA. First time this has happened to us ***sigh***
Once bitten twice shy... last weekend, we waited at the stall after placing our order and ensured we received the right "stuff" LOL... This review will still be based on taste... definitely still worth the wait for benefit of taste buds.

Yummy Hakka style breakfast Smile Apr 15, 2013

Whenever we are nearby Shunfu market, my wife and I will make it a point to visit this stall to purchase their famous soon kuey & abacus seeds (suan pan zi). The soon kuey is filled with lots of fillings; my favourite is the abacus seeds. This particular dish is difficult to make as it is time consuming. I do not buy abacus seeds any where else only from this stall as it is the BEST I ever had. Thumbs up! Must come early though as they sold out fast.

Best Minced Meat noodle soup Smile Apr 15, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

Compared to the Minced Meat noodle soup at Fengshan which I feel is over-rated, I prefer this stall at Blk 216 Bedok. You wont regret having to queue for it for breakfast... The soup is tasty (can ask for without oil as soup is rather oily), noodles & meat balls QQ, my wife especially LOVE the dumplings!! Do come early to avoid disappointment, as nice noodles may be sold out by around 1pm.

Juicy chicken wing Smile Apr 15, 2013

Their chicken wing is always a Must Have whenever there is soccer match to watch in the evening... Grilled skin with juicy tender meat on the inside. My wife and I always order early around 5.30pm to avoid long waiting time (we noted that, at least half an hour of waiting time if we order around 6pm). We usually have it takeaway to enjoy watching soccer match at home. Haha... the bus filled with the fragrance of BBQ chicken wing on our way back. Nevertheless, we do not like the satay... very dry and tough meat.

Disappointing Cry Apr 15, 2013
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I have read many good reviews of the noodles served from this stall and decided to give it a try instead of the usual one I always frequent... Very disappointed... It is always taken for granted that when I place an order without stating the portion size, it is the smaller portion that I want. However I was charged $3 for the larger portion without stall owner confirming on that. Soup is oily and quite bland, chilli no kick at all...
