Pork Porridge  Smile Jul 10, 2012

I think there is only one and only stall at Chomp Chomp selling porridge. If you are looking for something light for your palate, you can try this porridge stall. I usually go for the pork porridge as I love to have a lot of porky ingredients in my bowl of porridge. The youtiao is also nicely toasted before serving, hence it still have a bit of crisp on it. The porridge itself is smooth, silky and flavourful.

This is my favourite stall at Chomp Chomp for both the Fried Carrot Cake and Fried Oyster.

The Fried Carrot Cake is fried to perfection with a nice crisp on the outside. The chilli used was also very nice not too overly spicy. Important is not too oily.

The Fried Oyster is also pretty good here. I like the way they freid it to a nice charred crisp. They are also generous in the oyster which was fresh.

Drinks OK Jul 10, 2012

Something unique about Chomp Chomp is the drink stalls. They simple to outdo each other with huge jumbo glass. Stall 25 located at the end of the food centre besides selling your normal soda drinks, they also have drinks such as Lychee and Soursop.

We ordered both the lychee and soursop drinks at $3 each. It is served in a jumbo glass. The lychee drinks used canned lychee which as disappointing. The drink is also diluted with water and ice so that it is not so sweet. The soupsop tasted much better, sweet and refreshing.

Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle  Smile Jul 10, 2012

If you want to have the Ah Hock Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle, you need to have lots of patience. My advice is to place your order and go for other food first. Usually the fried hokkien prawn noodle will take 30min to an hour. I was there on saturday at about 6pm, the stall owner asked me whether i can wait for an hour for the hokkien mee!

Anyway the version of hokkien mee is on the dry side type. It also has more beehoon then yellow noodles. The beehoon also absorb the broth better making the plate of hokkien mee very flavourful.

MIlkshake Smile Jul 10, 2012

MakeShake is located at the basement of City Square Mall. It has a small sit down area where one can enjoy a sip of the yummy milkshake while people watching. I decided to go for my all time favourite blend of Strawberry and Banana milkshake. I like how the milkshake is not overly sweet and creamy. It still has a trace of the distinct fruity flavours. Every sip of it also comes with bites of the fruits which was quite delectable to the palate.
