it looked good.

these pretend tai tais found it tragically unlike its looks.

the environment was good.

spacious.

the serving plates were quaint china.

the tea selection was wide.

the latte was just froth milk.

although the next few cups were better.

and the food?

terrible.

i actually cannot find a single item that i would have a second serving of.

and the parking?

do not park in the regent hotel.

it cost us $21 for 3 hours.

great.

late nights  Cry Feb 04, 2013

At 3 am, we wanted an after dinner dessert.

So where else but the quitessential doughsticks and soy milk?

Their bowl of soybeancurd cost $1.50.

I thought that was a little steep. But it was a substantial portion. Much bigger than the usual small bowls at the morning stalls in the hawker centres.

The doughsticks we got that night/ morning was cold. sad

Tragically.

belgian styled waffles but...  Cry Feb 02, 2013

they had interesting flavours for waffles and only limited choices on ice cream. i really don't see how they call this gelato.

italian styled ice cream should be very soft and flowy and very creamy.

raspberry swirl on a cinnamon waffle.

This serving size was ridiculously small for its huge prices.

And the hilarious thing? a few months after, walking past the shop, we see a sign saying "due to overwhelming demand, we have now increased the size of our waffles."

did u mean overwhelming complaints?

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Supper)

who's full? Cry Feb 02, 2013

I was expecting savoury.
I mean, it's braised meat rice as stated in mandarin.
Firstly, it was minced.
I'm fine with that.
A cube of braised beancurd and a whole braised hardboiled egg with a side of boiled cabbage.
It should be good.
And the operative word being -should-
This was not savoury sad
It was sweet. To be fair it wasn't sickeningly sweet.
It just was -not- savoury.
Needless to say, this bowl of rice was left wanting.
And before I sound like I'm whining.

And there's nothing about the food that draws people to this place.
I see people eat.
And then I see them do a takeout.
Of a half a dozen cups of these kungfu milk tea with pearl.
It was HK style milk tea.
Thick and done with finesse.
So that's why it was a full house!

I wish I had a large cup. With pearls.
And no, I stopped myself from getting another to-go.
I'm coming back for drinks.

we stopped by here for desserts and boy was the aircon blasting on high at us.

it's a quaint place. made so cosy it feels like home.

sticky date and butterscotch ice cream? forgettable ice
cream. moist sticky date pudding saved the day.

store bought vanilla ice cream. and not so molten lava. but
chocolate saved us all. smile

and a vanilla dirt pot! a pleasant sight but an awfully
refrozen excuse of a dessert sad
