lemon yum Smile Oct 31, 2013

not a usual fan of lemon but this changed me completely.

a lemon meringue pie.

the lemon curd was tangy and refreshing. not too much of this for it would spoil a good thing when there is too much of it.

the meringue had a nice burnt pattern atop. and it was sweet but not overly so. it compensated for the sourness of the lemon curd below.

the tart base was not too hard and it wasn't a short crust texture. it was a little soft maybe from an overnight in the fridge but i loved the filling too much to bother about the tart shell.

the week is moving at a snail's pace

so here at ma maison, i got a portion of these french escargots for myself.

loved it that the butter garlic olive oil sauce is always so good.

the escargots might be a bit iffy to people who have not tried such a delicacy before but it tastes just like the bamboo clams. with the same kind of chewy texture.

a tip for all. always bite them into half and use the other half to dip into the small valleys in the metal plates just to make sure you get as much of the sauce as possible.

it's bad but it's so good!

light but could it still have some flavour?

caesar it is!

and what a huge portion of caesar it was!

now king caeser would be pleased. smile

i loved the large shavings of cheese and their tangy caesar sauce. the croutons were large and crisp. it added dimensions of textures. the bacon bits coupled with cheese and sauce made for a good mix of flavours in the salad.

i finished it all by myself.

this portion was large but enough for a meal option for one.

at $16++ this was a dear dessert. of course i could've gone on to da paolo. but this was on my way back and i thought i'd just drop in for a sweet fix to end my mad day.

i decided to go for the black cherry tiramisu.

the verdict?

i loved it.

the black cherries were sweet and soaked in rum. the mascarpone cheese was just enough to cover the espresso rum soaked fingers and guess what? there were more cherries within.

although i would've loved it even more if the cherries on top were fresh black cherries, i loved it enough this way to do a repeat order the very next night!

paws up for cute! Smile Oct 31, 2013

These burgers look and are shaped like bear paws. together with paw prints.

i chose the crispy karaage chicken on the original milk bun with mushroom sauce.

and CHEESE fries! smile add a dollar to the price of the set meal. The chicken set meal was $7.80. plus that dollar, my meal came up to $8.80.

The milk bun was nice and pillowy soft. The crispy karrage chicken succulent and of a satisfying size. The mushroom sauce was savoury and was actually the cause of a heart pumping meal trying hard not to let it drip onto myself.

this was a messy affair but still, it's paws up for cute!
