So many times we've had to leave because there were no seats. sad And finally, we got one today.

My first time at blackball. And boy, is that an extensive menu.

Of course I had the special.

That's a cold version of the special. with YamQ, golden sweet potato, yam balls, sweet potato balls, red beans, pearls and grass jelly.

While I love my desserts, this was just too much jaw work for me to really love. Don't get me wrong. They were probably all cooked well but i just had a lot of trouble chewing everything before i got tired of eating. The grass jelly however, is really smooth and melts in your mouth. smile

Salmon love Smile Oct 28, 2013

I still love this outlet of fish and co. It seems every time I'm here there's always a crazy large group gathering. And the staff are all game and always rise up to the occasion. We've had crazy polaroid nights, birthday song challenges.

But tonight was just a quick dinner break and I had the grilled salmon cajun.

‘Sashimi grade’ salmon grilled with our unique blend of Cajun spice topped with lemon butter sauce, says the menu. I don't know if it's sashimi grade because then it'd be a waste to cook a slab of it. tongue

But it was good as omega three oils promise a tender fillet. The cajun spices added flavour but did not take away all the taste of the fish. The raisins in the rice were still my favourite surprise.

Although i wish they could do more about the veggie sides. Maybe I should just request a switch to fries next time.

Soup for the soul. Smile Oct 28, 2013

Num had a craving for salted veggie duck soup and where else to satisfy it but here! Run by a very sweet lady, she offers you suggestions tirelessly.

Never hardselling, she recommends you soups based on body condition, moods and whatever else you might like to let her know about. smile[IMG:1And instead of white rice, mum opted for brown rice. It had a nice fragrance and went well with the choice of soup.

the soup had ample pieces of meat with soft bones and nice big pieces of salted veg. Eating clean.

I love the seng bee here. the portions are generous and the prices are slightly lower than the ones at amk ave 6.

without fail, it'd always be an order of the fish porridge with century egg. The porridge is consistently a smooth gruel. There's enough century egg to be shared with mum and the fish slices although sliced thinly, hold well together and taste fresh. The ginger slices aren't just for show, they actually have some spice in them. unlike some places where the ginger strips have been soaked so long in water they no longer have a taste.

Loving my hor fun. OK Oct 28, 2013
Categories : Malaysian | Noodles

Instead of their signature hor funs with various choices of the toppings, we decide to go for their plain hor funs and add on shared dishes.

for a table of 9, we had servings of hor fun all around ($2.80). Slippery and smooth, it was a good hor fun but a relatively small serving.

A sea cucumber and mushrooms claypot that had very thick and savoury sauce but was a small serving. A side of kailan that was good but too salty.

A whole tender chicken that was really done very well. The skin was smooth and it wasn't fatty. a pretty good sized chicken for $22. A bowl of dumplings $12 for 12. although a substantial size, it would have done well with more flavouring in the meat rather than the MSG laden soup.
