Having come here with high expectations we have to say we were slightly disappointed. Portions are HUGE and in that sense it's really value for money.However the starters were only decent ("Buffalo Wings" with no vinegar are totally NOT buffalo wings), and the ribs were a little overcooked. The sauce was delicious though!Jerry's is a nice place to come eat if you're in the area and craving for wings, but not quite worth a long journey. Non-halal (obviously).

Paradise Pavilion is the flagship restaurant of the Paradise group. It's said to have among the best Peking Duck in Singapore; sadly in our visit there was only two of us and they don't serve ¼ or ½ portions.Anyway we ordered off the ala-carte menu: entry level soup, some BBQ meats, appetizers, cod fish and noodles, and came away with a bill for almost $200 (for two pax).The food was very pretty (presentation-wise) and above average for chinese restaurant standards, but that price tag really makes the meal not worth it.

Although Sumiya brands itself as an izakaya, it really ... isn't. The menu is heavy on sashimi and sushi, with particular emphasis on 'fresh' bluefin tuna. Anyway we decided to just go for the middle road option of three different set menus - the Utage Course at $128 for two:

- Edamame
- Salmon Avocado Monaka
- 5 Kinds of Premium Sashimi
- Char-Grilled Chicken with Crazy Salt
- Double Steamed Rice with Grilled Eel and Salmon Roe
- Snow Crab Clear Soup
- Deep Fry: Shrimp, asparagus and tuna meat
- Dessert of the DayFood overall was mixed, with some good dishes and some bad. Quantity and variety was spot on for $75/pax but quality was a little lacking.

Yay: Well cooked, fresh and fragrant fish head curry, served on banana leaf!

Nay: A bit on the Spicy side; Parking is a bitch.Samy's Curry opened its' doors some 30-ish years ago in Dempsey Hill, serving up a full menu worth of curries, breads, tandoor meats ... and fish head curry. I'm a big fan of Indian-style fish head curry - I like the more robust spice and flavor compared to Chinese-style. And perhaps there's also just that something about free flow rice and vegetables on a banana leaf. I'm glad to report, then, that the fish head curry in Samy's Curry is very good! The snapper head itself is fresh and well cooked - flesh is moist and succulent. I liked the curry itself as well - had the right balance of tanginess and spice from the curry. The other dishes we tried were a little hit and miss, though. Tandoori chicken and the Fish Cutlets were par for the course; and the dry-cooked lamb while being chock full of flavor was a little too spicy for our taste buds.The Masala Chicken also a mixed bag - nice taste on the sauce but the dry parts of the chicken were simply too dry to appreciate and enjoy.If you're in the mood for a nice, solid fish head curry then Samy's Curry is a no brainer! Do turn up early though - parking in the area can get quite annoying once the crowd starts building up. Dinner with drinks should fall in around $15-$20/pax.

Given all the glowing reviews here on hgw and everywhere else on the net, I visited DeBurg with sky high expectations, and sadly those expectations have certainly not been met.The taste profile, chosen ingredients and the seasoning on the burgers are impeccable, spot on, and utterly delicious. However, the patties were overcooked (rendering them dry) and the burger buns were also dry. The worst offenders were the sides: cold fries and tater tots that had obviously been fried 10-20 minutes prior to serving, and borderling inedible salad absolutely drenched in balsamic vinegar. Add to that the 30-60min wait, difficulty in getting here if you don't drive (and difficulty in finding parking if you do), which makes me wonder what the hype is about.
