Yami is yummeh! Smile Jul 05, 2013

Categories : Frozen Yogurt

Yami Yogurt was introduced to me by a close friend of mine and since then, I got hooked to their delicious soft yogurt which taste like ice cream but is much more healthier than that. My favorite is their peach flavor, never fails to have that whenever I am craving for it. The peach flavor is not powering to cover the nature taste of the yogurt, though you can still taste the refreshing peachy flavor every spoonful.

There are also numerous toppings of the yogurt for you to choose from, from dried nuts to fresh fruits. My favorite toppings is either the almonds nuts of mixed nuts. The toppings are surprisingly fresh too! No signs of "air" in them cos they are still as crunchy. Well, adding on an extra crunch to the soft yogurt is just so... attractive.

Fruit juice! Smile Jul 05, 2013
Categories : Malay

Other than Rojak, the fruit juice here is fresh and gao (thick). The aunties are friendly and always take your orders eagerly yet friendly, trying to avoid a long queue form. I also realized that the fruit juice prices is slightly cheaper than other fruit stalls in the same area. I like their orange and apple juice ($2) as they make it fresh in front of you and proving you they didn't add any sugar syrup prior to the juice. My fruit juice tasted really good and refreshing! Other than that you can also order a "Fruit mixture" juice and the auntie and dump any fruits which she got hold of into the blender and blend it for you. It cost $2 too. Hard to come by any fruit juice in Orchard which sells at $2 nowadays!

SUBWAY EAT FRESH! Smile Jul 03, 2013

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

I was soooo happy when Subway open it's branch at Tiong Bahru Plaza, which means healthy sandwich is just within walkable distance! The subway is quite big, compare to other branches (with only the standing counter) and can sit up to maybe like 20-30 customers.

The one and only sandwich I will order is definitely the oven roasted chicken bread, with honey oat bread. Their bread is made freshly everyday so I will not doubt the freshness of it. I am thankful that the sandwich artists are mostly friendly and listen well to your order (of veggies and sauce etc). However I have to remind them to give me more tomatoes not... they will just give like 3 pieces of it to your sandwich.

I like how fresh and crunchy the vegetables as they make your sandwich more... crunchier with different kind of texture (bread, vegs, meat and finally bread again). I love to drench my sandwich with 2 types of sauce, mostly honey mustard and sweet onion. I hate to put onion in to my sandwich as it makes my mouth stink, so no onions for me. lol

DURIAN PANCAKES Smile Jul 03, 2013
Categories : Malay | Singaporean Chinese

Located just next to the crazy long queue money changer at Chinatown's People Park Complex, this has got to be the best durian pancake you ever get for just... $1.50 - $2. They even have the option of having the normal size one or, if you are feeling very 'durian-ish' that day, you can even upsize the durian pancake to the JUMBO size (which really is, very gigantic).

I had the durian jumbo pancake one of cos, since their specialty is the local favorite, DURIAN. If you doesn't want your mouth to stink after savoring the pancake (or don't make it even more stinky from your original stinky mouth...) you can opt for the other exotic flavors available there. Go see for yourself and decide what you want!

Anyway back to the pancake. The pancake skin is very extremely crispy! I don't know the super friendly lady boss do it but it just taste sooooo crispy till you can hear the "crack crack" sound when you bite into it. Not those very thick pancake skin you buy from outside, cos you will just taste the flour taste and not the star of the food, DURIAN. They are very particular about the quality of their durian used and will changed every now and then once there's negative feedback from their customers. At last a shop which listen to the feedback from the customers!

Well for the durian used, I love it. It is not very sweet like other places (sugar added!) but tasted very natural and original. The durian smell is strong but yet it smell so good (and taste too!)

Not a fan of pancake? Nevermind. They have durian tapioca (what!) too which taste as good. There's even all sorts of durian snacks available to satisfy your craving for durianssss!

Chicken Rice Smile Jul 03, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

This had got to be my number one chicken rice in Singapore. Don't ask me why if you think it's not nice but I guess it's the taste bud problem. I just simply think this is the best chicken rice. Specially visited this place to cure my cravings and of cos it's a half chicken affair. I love the rice so I will normally ordered to plates and finish them off.

The white chicken is very extremely smooth and very juicy. I don't know how they make it in to so nice and the chicken flavors are being locked inside the tender meat. I like their way of serving the soup to their customers. It's a self service thing which you can refill your soup bowl as many times as you like and they will not show you nasty look (because they are busy you see... which shows how crowded it is)

At the end of the day, if you think your mouth stinks because of the garlic chili (or some other factors which makes your mouth have a bad smell...) they do provide mentos to their customers which I think is very thoughtful to get rid of your foul mouth smell!
