Mini Bak Kwa OK Jun 18, 2012
Categories : BBQ

My family suddenly felt like having bak kwa so we decided to get a packet of mini bak kwa from bee chang hiang. Although it is not of the freshest quality, it is quite interesting how they packet it into mini servings. The pieces of bak kwa were still very fragrant and oily like the normal ones. The meat was not too tough too, although we left the packets in the fridge. There are quite a lot of mini packets inside, enough to go around for the entire family. smile

Taiwan Milk Tea  OK Jun 18, 2012
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

I had taiwan milk tea with eighty percent sugar level from Each a Cup the other day. The milk tea tasted normal. It was quite sweet, but not so till you literally feel like you're drinking sugared water. There was no strong taste of tea blend and was more milky than tea-ish. The pearls were not too starchy or hard, just the right texture to chew. The tea wasn't too diluted with the ice. A very refreshing drink! smile

The cheesy pizza was fantastic with so many kinds of cheese in it! It was not too salty and the base sauce also went very well with the cheese. The cheese just melted in my mouth in each bite of the pizza. I enjoyed the crust the most, it is a little different from the normal pan pizza, having more crisp and is a more burnt. I also tried the new turkey and mushroom pan pizza which was heavenly too! The mushrooms covered the entire pizza with the pieces of turkey ham hidden within and beneath. Loved how the mushrooms brought a whole new flavour to pizza, as they were still juicy! Their spicy chicken drumlets is an all time favourite and will always be! Juicy, hot and spicy, yummy!! smile

Set Meal @ Long black cafe Smile Jun 16, 2012

Categories : Café

I dined at the Long Black Cafe that day, outside at their al fresco dining area. It was really windy and cool, nice place to have lunch! I ordered the beef baked rice set which came together with the soup of the day- pumpkin soup and a drink- apple flavoured drink. The pumpkin soup was fantastic! It was really creamy and I enjoyed the smooth texture of the soup. The pumpkin was also not too strong and the soup was not too salty too. The beef baked rice was cheesy and they served the rice with pieces of beef slices, not minced beef like some other restaurants do. The beef slices were tender. Their apple flavoured drink was served with pieces of peppermint leaves in it, giving the drink a minty tinge. Not bad a place to have lunch together with friends! smile

Popiah Smile Jun 16, 2012

Categories : Coffeeshop

This roll of popiah was quite huge and packed very fully with lots of ingredients. Each piece was juicy with the turnips spilling out of the wrap when you put it into your mouth. However, there was something missing, there wasn't a crunch from fritters that some stalls put in their popiahs. I felt it was also a little too wet although the popiah was still very nicely wrapped. The garlic chili was very strong and stayed quite some time in my mouth, but I guess without it, the popiah would not have been so tasty! chopstick
