Usual makan every saturday. Smile Oct 12, 2012

Categories : Hainanese | Chinese | Restaurant | Chicken Rice | Kids-Friendly

Every saturday, I have a standard routine of going to Novena church followed by having my dinner at Wee Nam Kee restaurant.

To start off, the place is big and specialises in chicken rice but have other stuff. I cant expect roasted chicken at 9pm but i think that the steamed chicken is equally good. It is a little cold but the rice is a neutralizer as it is warm and tasty. The condiments at the side provides us with many tastes.

There was one night, i was feeling a little sick and had their soup of the day. It was the pork rib soup with red dates and winter melon. Yumm... as it was a cold night, the soup was really helpful. It is a little pricey though, one plate of steam chicken rice with a glass of lime juice is around $5.30. Despite the price, it is still tasty.

The place isnt absolutely clean but it is suitable for dining. I cant blame them there are so many people dining there.

Lastly, the service is good, prompt and lots of intiative and the dining experience overall was ok.
lollollollollol A good place to recommend for people who love chicken rice but if you want roasted,

PLEASE GO FOR LUNCH!!!!

American cuisine near home Smile Oct 11, 2012

Categories : American | Steaks and Grills | Kids-Friendly

I stay around this area and i also love American cuisine. I have not found something really good until this place opened. This place is packed for lunch and dinner even on weeknights. However, i have become a regular at this place. lol.

The ambience is really cool and cosy with some American country music and some memorabilia from the American traditional arts scene.

Lunch here is served hot with free soup and free flow of soft drinks. I spent less than 30 bucks for fish and chips for my mum and a ribeye steak for myself.

Usually, they will serve the soup quite hot because thats the way i like it and pn this occasion, it was somewhat similar. I had chicken gumbo soup basically, small chicken chunks with vegetables and rice in the soup. (Be careful of the bones) It had a little spice to it but i am always cool with that. The other soup i tried was the mushroom soup, a little tasteless but there are lots of condiments to cater to all sorts of tastebuds.

The ribeye steak i had was ok, i ordered medium because i wanted a little raw and a little cooked. Served with the baked cheese potato and coleslaw. It was too hearty of a meal that i decided to skip the desert. The fish and chips was good and served with a lot of spicy fries and some cooling coleslaw as we were too full, we couldnt finish.

Above all this, the waitresses there know that we are regulars and serves ALL Guests promptly. They have a high tech ordering system using an electronic tabloid to input customers orders. Furthermore, when you dig in to your meal, they will check on you to see if all is good. Wonderful. Its a good thing i stay near.

Dining at Carls Junior Smile Jun 07, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

VivoCity is one of the larger shopping malls in Singapore comprising of a vast array of food and beverage dining options to a selection of small stop F&B bites such as the Don Bakery and many small stop kiosks for patrons to "eat as they go".

The second level of VivoCity is wonderfully designed with a Kids play area followed by a alfresco dining area for patrons to watch over their kids while eating. A very ideal place for families to bring their children on a weekend or the school holidays. The play area being free of charge will cater to all families who are on a budget but still want to have a good time.

There was one night that i was tempted by Carl's Junior as we were about to have a long night ahead of us. Upon arrival, we knew that being a Saturday night it would be very busy so we decided to sit at the alfresco area for dinner. We ordered our meals and had it delivered to us because of the concept of ordering in Carl's Junior.

Being totally famished, i ordered the Turkey Bacon Angus Thick Burger. Well what can i say about this burger? This burger is absolutely sinful and one of the most unhealthiest burgers available on the menu. It is truly a big burger because the size of the burger is really huge and as i mentioned before that if a burger is bigger than my hand, i will be solely impressed and true enough i truly was. The burger had the following items a thick Angus beef patty, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 pieces of streaky bacon 2 crispy onion rings, tomato ketchup sandwiched into 2 perfect buns... The combination of all the patties being put together makes it ultimately amazing. The different flavors in your mouth makes the tastes of the burger absolutely fantastic. However, it must be noted that it is a great way to blow your diet. The calories in this range from 780 calories to 1045 calories.

The complementary order to fries would be the chili cheese fries apart from the other types of fries being served. The chili cheese fries is served with melted cheese and a layer of chili con carne. The taste just explodes in your mouth with a decent amount of complex carbohydrates, this dish also puts you in for the kill with the great taste in your mouth. All this is served with a large beverage in which you will be able to choose from Soft drinks or Home-made iced lemon tea.

Just a small insight on the Carl's Junior, it is actually an American cuisine where the main headquarters is in Anaheim, California USA. A small hot dog push cart business to a Multi-million dollar organization. If you ever do travel up to USA, do not forget to try out their $6 Burger.

It is good to indulge yourself sometimes but not all the time. The tastes of Carl's Junior is fantastic and what to accompany a good meal with great service. The staff were extremely jovial adding to the Saturday mood and provided insights of different burgers. Their product knowledge was extremely good for a customer who did not know what to order.

Times change and Prices fly OK Jun 05, 2013

Categories : Malay

I entered Republic Poly in 2007 and left in 2010. This place has maintained the same standard for the past few years that i have been there. All i have to say is that when i first entered and as a new student, you are getting used to the food and the new place you can't decide on where you are going to have your breaks or your lunch. The first day that i came here, i ate at this very stall. Back then it was called "Indonesian BBQ" with $2.80... ayam bakar (Grilled chicken and sweet sauce) with rice.... It was served with egg and the coconut curry as i can clearly remember.

Before i left school, I had the dish again and tried the ayam penyet. (Fried Smash chicken) served with the same items and the sambal wah... sedap la sia... Sedap to the max but... there is always a but in here.... It costs up to $4.50 before i left. That was the last of what i saw back in 2010.

Good days as Times change and prices fly....

Delivery from Spize Cafe Smile Jun 05, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Halal

Celebrating my friends 21st birthday, we decided to order 2 types of food. One was pizza from Canadian Pizza and the other was from Spize Cafe...

We ordered a few items to celebrate our friends birthday. One was the Nasi Goreng Pattaya (Fried Rice in omelet), another dish was the Mee Goreng Seafood, 2 egg prata, 1 Rose syrup with milk (Bandung) and 1 Ice Milo....

I tasted quite a bit of this food, the Mee Goreng was not that oily, quite tasty and well mixed filled with the egg and a very sweet tomato sauce to accompany the food. One of the key things that it included was the seafood of course! It had the squid rings, the squid rings were not as rubbery as i thought it would be. The prawns were also juicy and quite fresh. Seems the standards were quite good and it remains quite food...

The Nasi Goreng Pattaya was really good. This dish was very surprising and it was quite good because a lot of this dish disappoints me a lot. It was quite moist and the portions were quite big for the price we paid around $7 for it... The omelet was covered well and the rice was warm when it arrived.

The Egg Prata was good big as well. Quite funny see to 4 persons to eat 2 egg prata.. But in the name of friendship everything funny seems pretty good... it comes in a brown wrapper for the delivery..

Lastly, we ordered 1 Bandung and 1 Sprite... to fit the basic order of the delivery. Now you may ask what i am talking about.

Spize restaurant has a delivery service in which they have a criteria to fit. Under this criteria, there are 2 checklists. One is minimum order and one is delivery charge. We ordered to a total of $27 for the food and drinks and since i was in zone 3, i had to pay $8 for the delivery charge coming up to a total of $35... Such an eventful day with some good food..
