Din Tai Fung! XIAO LONG BAO! Smile Jun 04, 2013

Just before my ORD, a couple of my friends and i were headed over to this outlet to try out their food. Located at the basement of Raffles City, this place is very busy! So i went earlier to queue up for my place. No reservations were allowed especially on the weekends. Unfortunately for us, we went on a Friday! I waited for about 30 minutes before seats were available. The one thing this place does is that for a table of 4, they fit in 6 people! Quite smart...

Anyways, this place was something i wanted to try for quite some time. I ordered Xiao Long Bao and Fried Rice with the deep fried pork chop. I spent around $25 including some drinks...

The Xiao Long Bao comes in 10 pcs... Juicy and tasty especially with the stew inside the dumpling. It has been said that it takes a special skill to make the XLB... Tasty but clearly not the best that i have tasted. Maybe it is due to overwhelming response so anyways, it is pretty goood for me.

The service is good and i actually put my chinese speaking knowledge to good use. They were pretty jovial about it but they were pretty Okay and served us quite well....

After Easter, my friends and I headed over to one of my friends place. Was recommended by my colleague to try out this place by delivery. It was 1 am at night and we were quite hungry. KFC and Pizza hut was closed... So was Canadian and Pastamania!

Our next choice was to actually order from this place. Having the 6 of us there, many of us actually ordered different things, my recommendation to them was actually to ask them to provide me with a simpler menu choice and so we saw the chicken. We ordered a whole chicken, cheese fries and drinks... The drinks.. i tell you ar some people really nonsense so i just ordered for everyone sprite and coke and they could argue over it.. We are all guys afterall...

We paid $35 for all the food... Tasted really good and tasty, if i am not wrong, i think we ordered some chicken wings as well to cater to our meals....

The southern chicken was tasty, juicy and also a bit oily. One of the better chickens that i have ever tasted... The fries were cheesy and oozy just like the name states oozy cheesy fries.

They came a bit late because the driver was a bit lost. He stopped at towner Road but we were at Whampoa Road...

Will definitely be back to order some more food from this place.

Royce Chocolates Smile May 31, 2013

I have only tried this once and i must say that this is really good. Royce chocolate offers a wide range of chocolates and especially so during the festival season. Do not be alarmed by the queue because it really extends a long way.

A simple gesture of Thank You and warm welcomes draws yo to the outlet.. It looks as white as snow... The store is filled with people and staff assisting you to cater to your needs.

We ordered the chocolates with the liqueur. Tasted really nice upon opening to package.. Actually what i would really like to talk about is the packaging.. It is served in like a cold casing sort of like bubble wrap. It feels really good and makes you like a kid again...

All in all for a promotion, i paid $15 for the chocolates... So good to taste...

A slice of heaven in your mouth Smile May 30, 2013

There is always a place where you can't never forget.. Living near Toa Payoh, i felt so honored to have a small shop called Lao Ban Beancurd.. I have tried the one at Old Airport Road near Dakota crescent...

Wells, after church or evening mass on Sunday, i was greatly hungry and went to check out the Lao Ban beancurd at the Toa Payoh area.. There are no seats there but nevertheless we enjoyed the nice cool breeze by the veranda or isle along the corridor..

The taste is consistent... Like a slice of heaven in your mouth, no other feeling can roughly describe how i am feeling about the taste. Very smooth and the skin is obvious...

Spent around $1.50 per serving of the Lao Ban Beancurd, what a day to end your weekend...

My friends and I were chilling after their muay thai training at the carpark. We headed to the coffee shop and had a drink. We did not intent to eat but the fragrant smell of fried chicken wings tickled our palate. My friend ordered $6 worth of Nasi Lemak which actually sounds like a lot for nasi lemak! He ordered Nasi Lemak with 2 chicken wings, 2 eggs, vegetables, 2 hot dogs and 1 fish fillet. Now that is a lot of food for $6.

My order was cheaper at $2.80 which consisted of Nasi Lemak rice, 1 egg, 1 sausage and 1 chicken wing. Particularly like the rice, at 4am it felt freshly cooked, makes me feel like a fresh start to your day. The coconut milk infusion in the rice was significantly felt.
