Chicken Rice! Smile May 13, 2013

Categories : Hainanese | Chicken Rice

I have a certain expectation for chicken rice.... This place certainly does not disappoint me for anything... I went to lunch with a few of my colleagues and we headed over to this place for lunch for a change...

We ordered 1 whole chicken with half white and half roasted.... Simply awesome.... The taste of the chicken was not as raw like some places have it and the rice was fragrant... After pouring the chili and ginger over it... i enjoyed the taste of it even more.. and not to forget the dark soya sauce ... The taste was simply awesome... The chicken was good and yea i felt that the taste were very well blended together....

Will i be back here for chicken rice? As what Daniel Bryan used to say.... YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Fish and chips Smile May 13, 2013

Since its revamp... Causeway Point has become more contemporary in its dining choices and fish and co is one of them who has moved to this new location...

Ordered the fish and chips... the standard one with the dory... they also have the barramundi fish and chips which isn't so bad.... tastes great actually...

The seafood catch if i remember correctly allows you to add on to your meal which is to add the clam chowder and a soft drink... My friend ordered that but not me because being on a budget... i could only afford the dory fish and chips at $8.90

This place is forever crowded.. but one sunday afternoon while eating at J8, i decided to head on down to coffee bean and tea leaf to have some drinks and food with my family...

I ordered the chicago cheesecake and a tall glass of hot chocolate.... The cheesecake was so rich... goodness the minute i put my fork into my mouth, i realised that it was toooo sweet.... so sweet such that the hot chocolate was so normal...

All in all spent ard $13 for both items... A lazy sunday afternoon at this place was a great way to end the week.

Well if there's on thing i could say.... This stall has been here since my primary school days when St Michael's School was at a holding school at Monks Hill... A 20 min walk from Newton MRT as i could remember walking to school and coming back.. we would pass by this place.. and as far as i can remember, this place... it was still concurring in the Old Newton Hawker centre...

Moreover, we always order from this stall when we are at Newton Hawker centre as we would like to keep on having some good old tastes of classic indian food...

Ordered their chicken fried rice... It used to be good but then its standard has dropped. How could this be? Well for simplicity reasoning sake, he has been working non stop 7 days a week and rests only on Deepavali... I have ultimate respect for this guy...

The other dishes that i tried was the soup kambing... super awesome... It had a distinct coconutty taste to it.... It was so addictive but it has been very bad feeling inside.... All in all.. I would say if you wanna go back to this place to dine and all... the recommendation would be to try the murtabak as well... The chicken ones of course because the sardine ones just dont go together.
