I have been here a couple of times but on a Tuesday night was another time that i actually went to that place again...

We ordered a large stingray, one small fried calamari and 1 plate of sambal kang kong... The total costs around $29.50 with 3 plates of rice.... This is actually pretty cheap for 3 dishes....

The fish was really big.... For 3 persons very worth it... IT COSTS $15 which was really cheap....

The fish was juicy and fresh and the lime was added to make it nicer and more fragrant... I couldn't help it but i used my palate instead of my stomach to eat the fish...

The calamari is fresh and the taste was unique served with tartar sauce, this stall knows how to cater the east and west cuisine in a mix....

Laslty, the kang kong costs $5.. That is cheap for a small kang kong... It has no other way of telling you that $5 these days for a family of 3 to have kang kong at $5 is very cheap....

All in all.... a very good taste in foood........

Over the past 15 years or if i can ever remember, this stall has served us well... The residents of Whampoa can always look up to something and this stall serves some good 'eh piah' that's what i was brought up to do so....

On a typical Tuesday night, i went there with my mum and my sister for a quiet family dinner.... We sat down and ordered some of Shirley's delights, there was fried prawn crackers, fried fish balls, fried ngoh hiang and siew mai. We paid around $7 or so for the food and it was really quite tasty... The tastes still lingers.... When we ordered, the next table looked at us, fully amazed at the amount my family was able to consume.

Such a tasty delight... Thank You Shirley...

My friends and i usually dine in at gardens. We will either go to Chomp Chomp or RK to eat but well this was one of those few times that we headed some place different.

Relish, the one place that my taste buds still lingers... I was heading there with my secondary school friends and i ordered the beef burgers served with caramelized peaches served on top of the swiss cheese... It compliments the flavor of the meat... The juices are stuck in meat and if the chef knows how to do that, it is really good because you don't want the juice to be out of the meat....

Apart from that there was some bleu cheese dressing in the meat... Great... and the celery stick served with the buffalo wings also gave us some extra bleu cheese dressing to play with. It is really an acquired taste but for a person like me who prefers the Western European or American cuisine. It is really a scientific experiment for the palate.

The reason why it is called bleu cheese is because it is from France and in France they pronounce blue as bleu... I can appreciate this and you cant never imagine how great this tastes if you know how to eat it properly.

Do you know who are the sexiest people on earth?? Well let me give you a hint! They can count very well. Well they may be considered a mathematician.

Well, they are the musicians and this place can crack me up. I love the Blue Jazz Bar. It is simply fantastic. There are so many hot chicks there and i am so fascinated. It is said and i believe so that there are so many musicians at this place. My friends and i who are all musicians headed there a couple of weeks ago to have some fun and dance to some samba music... There was this singer and at first i looked at her i was like wow but then suddenly came up to shake my hand and introduced herself to me. What a wonderful night! I would have love to know her more.

Anyway, i just ordered Erdinger German Beer and some fries to accompany me for the night.

Lovely place, nice food i know and a lovely place to hang out and make friends.

Cafe Melba BRUNCH!!!!! Smile May 27, 2013

What an awesome day to end your awesome weekend before your new week at work.... My group of friends met up and we sat down and had brunch at Cafe Melba.

Along the roads of Mountbatten Road, Cafe Melba has one of the best dining brunches I have personally tried. However to get to this location, it is a little bit confusing but i promise you the trip is worth it. You have to alight at Mountbatten train station and would have to take exit B and upon which, walk on the path and you would head over the the Goodman Arts Centre located on the left hand side of the pavement.

We walked past the blocks with a reminiscence of nostalgia. The place looked as if I was in my Holding site in my primary school... Monks Hill Secondary School...

As we walked into the restaurant, I had the smell of the freshness of the coffee with the aroma greatly lingering in the bistro area. The alfresco area comprised of a high chair bar style concept along with the garden style low seat dining.

The menu consisted of a mixture of an American cuisine along with a classic Italian cuisine in which the variety of prices ranged from $8 to $100 over. They had a classic brunch menu in which you could ever imagine from steak and eggs to a proper classic breakfast.

I had the full Melba breakfast. A big oval plate filled with toast, a hash brown, eggs of your choice (scrambled, poached and over-easy), bacon, a bratwurst sausage, sauteed mushrooms and 2 lightly grilled cherry tomatoes. A small saucer of baked beans was also served along with the breakfast.

The food was delicious, as i ordered the poached eggs and i would expect a very high standard of poached eggs because if one restaurant or bistro can pull it off, it is incredibly tasty. I then ordered poached eggs and i placed it on top of my toast and drizzled the bacon oil and wow it was truly amazing. The yolk was oozing out properly and the bacon was perfect. I quickly tucked in my brunch and i was quite famished by the time the meal arrived.

I paid $25 for the entire meal of course i didn't order any alcoholic beverages to accompany me such that I would not have a weird taste in my mouth. Its breakfast but i would have alcohol if it was dinner.

They also have a fine selection of beers, ciders, wines and spirits for consumption apart from their juices, soft drinks etc.

The ambience of that place is perfect for a Sunday morning or afternoon where you would be able to bring your kids or your dogs to sit by the area and play. Such a beautiful place. Excellent service and lovely food. Be sure to drop by this place if you feel like having a good time with your family on a Sunday afternoon.
