Sha Cha Chicken OK Jun 07, 2011
Categories : Bakery

Not sure what is sha cha chicken, and I am still not sure after eating it. A different flavor from the usual.

The bread is coated with sesame seeds, very appealing to the eyes. The amount of filling is reasonable too. The first taste of the chicken seems to be like curry. A second taste confirms that it is NOT curry. It is quite a different taste, however I think I will stick to my usual.

Claypot rice OK Jun 07, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

Ordered the claypot chicken and mushroom rice. Quite a disappointment I would say, considering that they have other good food.

The rice was quite bland, not sweet or salty enough. They cut up the chicken wing into smaller pieces for easy eating. The chicken was the better part, tender and marinated. The mushroom was quite hard and not crunchy. There was some slices of sausage too.

Not exactly the best claypot rice around, nor the best food they serve.

Spending per head: Approximately $5.50

Bread OK Jun 06, 2011

I did not expect too much from the breads here and thus the cheese bread that I bought was just okay.

The soft bread is a little sweet and the cheese was just the slice on top. Do not expect much of a cheese taste. It was filled with butter inside, that makes the bread not too bad.

I will probably choose other bakeries if I have the choice, unless I am in a rush since this bakery is conveniently located near the MRT station. Food wise, normal and nothing much to expect.

Char Siew and Roasted Meat Rice OK Jun 05, 2011

Categories : Coffeeshop | Roasted Meat

I was famished so decided to add roasted pork to my char siew rice. Starting with the char siew, it was not that impressive. The sweet sauce on the char siew was not sufficient and I think it was not roasted well enough. The taste on the char siew was due to the dark gravy that was added over the rice. The consolation was that the char siew was soft and thin. Moving on to the roasted pork, the skin is very crispy and the slightly fatty texture of the meat makes it a mouth-watering delight. Additionally, the meat is quite succulent too.

Roasted Delights OK Jun 05, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

This is a typical coffeeshop with different stalls. The stall I ordered from is 'Roasted Delights'. It seemed to be more popular as it was the only stall with a short queue.

I ordered the shredded chicken hor fun, takeaway. Costs $3, with an additional 20 cents for the container. The hor fun is smooth and nice with the soy sauce. However, it was too dry for my liking. The mushroom was not the crunchy kind, though it was juicy when taken a bite.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.20
