XL pau Smile Jul 10, 2011

This is my first time trying the pau here. It lives up to its name and is really quite large.

The bread is soft, though not the very fluffy kind. It is not very thick and you can taste the filling with just the first bite. The filling was really nice. Chicken is well marinated, juicy and tender. It is not very fatty or oily.

It costs $2.80 for one. Worth the money in my opinion. Will definitely order it again.

Seafood Aglio Olio Smile Jul 10, 2011

The pasta is very smooth and well cooked. From the picture, you can see that the noodles has a glossy appearance which is believed to be olive oil. It is slightly spicy. The prawn and scallop is very fresh and sweet. The seafood could have been more.
The azuki bean beverage is my favourite. The drink is sweet and the azuki bean tastes very good. The coffee aroma is fantastic too.

Yuzu Pear and chocolate tart Smile Jul 10, 2011

Categories : Bars/Lounges | Desserts and Cakes

This dessert bar has a very nice ambience and is a good place to chill out. I ordered the Yuzu pear cocktail which was highly recommended by the staff as a sweet and citrus drink. However, it does not turn out to be as it tasted bitter. Orange bits could be seen in the drink. There was a slight burning sensation as the drink reaches the throat.
The chocolate tart was fantastic and just by the display it was already tempting enough to want to finish it. The tart was crispy on the outside but when you cut it open, all the warm chocolate starts oozing out. The chocolate is thick and it is not sweet. There were small chocolate balls too. The dessert also comes with an orange sorbet.

Black Seafood Ramen Smile Jul 10, 2011

The black ramen is an interesting dish that I have been wanting to try. I ordered the seafood black ramen set which comes with an ala carte side and a drink. The soup does appear to be black when served, but it actually turns brown upon mixing. The ingredients in the ramen includes an egg, crab stick, squids and two scallops. I would love to have more scallops as they were small. The seafood is fresh and sweet. The soup is sweet and has a light salty taste. I picked the dumpling side. The dumpling is pan-fried very nicely. The skin is thin and the meat filling is generous.

Soup minced meat noodle Smile Jul 10, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Brunch

I rarely ordered minced meat noodle in soup but after hearing pretty good reviews decided to give it a try. The soup is refreshing and sweet, unlike some which has a strong pepper taste. The noodles were well-cooked and were not soggy. It gives a good bite. In the noodles, you can find minced meat, lean meat, lettuce, mushroom and a fried dumpling. The mushroom is good as it adsorbs all the seasoning that was used to cook it in the slow cooker. I ordered the set meal so it comes with a cup of coffee and costs $5. I find the price is on the high side.
