Century Egg with Meat Porridge Smile May 25, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

I was fretting what to have for lunch and wanted something light and special so I decided to go for the century egg porridge. Century egg must be cooked well else it will have that unpleasant smell and taste. The porridge is very sweet, fragrant and smooth and the century egg does not spoil the taste of the porridge too. There was quite a lot of meat and century egg in the porridge too. In the coffeeshop, you will find porridge going with youtiao, but for this stall you have crackers. The porridge here is certainly well cooked and deserved the good comments.

Okonomiyaki Smile May 24, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen | Sushi/Sashimi

I had wanted to try the okonomiyaki after hearing my friend say how delicious it is. I ordered the scallop pancake. The serving of scallop is quite reasonable for its price. The pancake is mainly made up of cabbage and egg, drizzled with mayo and another japanese sauce. Finally, sprinkled with seaweed and bonito flakes. The scallop is fresh and sweet.

It is really very delicious, and seems like a healthy dish with the loads of cabbage at the base.

Affordable japanese food Smile May 24, 2011

A Japanese foodcourt concept, with affordable and delicious Japanese food. There are many stalls inside here selling various items, such as ramen, rice bowls, bento sets, okonomiyaki and omu rice.

I ordered the beef rice bowl. This stall is one of my favorite and I always order the chicken rice bowl, which is really yummy. The beef serving is quite generous. Together with the typical japanese side dishes and seasoning, the rice bowl is very flavorful. It is served in a hot stone bowl to maintain its heat and flavor.

Cookies Smile May 15, 2011

The cookies here are one of my favorites. I ordered the macadamia white chocolate cookie for a quick afternoon snack. It is a soft chewy cookie and is quite sweet with the white chocolate. It was freshly baked from the oven, still slightly warm when I ate it. It is so addictive that one is never enough.

Qi Ji Laksa Smile May 15, 2011

I saw people eating laksa in the stall, and decided to give it a try. I have tried some of their other dishes, and they were all pretty yummy. The laksa lived up to its reputation too.

The gravy has a strong coconut taste and is very spicy with the chili, Although spicy, I could not help but to finish up the sinful gravy. They gave me only 2 pieces of tau pok, which I was looking forward to more. The fishcake was more, but still could not replace the tau pok. Other ingredients include bean sprouts, egg and cockles. The cockles were disappointingly not very fresh.
