International Buffet Smile Oct 22, 2011

This is a popular buffet place over the weekends and you have to book a few days in advance to get the seats.

I was certainly not disappointed after the meal. We were each served a portion of black chicken tonic soup when we were settled down. There was a great variety of food. The soup over there are fantastic, very thick and the taste is immense especially the black chicken and crocodile soup.

As for the teppanyaki food, I think only the mutton and tou miao is of better standard. The mutton is tender and leaves a good bite. The tou miao is very well fried and seasoned.

There are lots of oysters for oysters lover but I am not really a fan of it. However, I did try one and it was fresh and succulent. There were cheese scallops available and also mussels as well.

The fried durian is pretty addictive and I believe durian lovers will love it. The skin is crispy outside and the durian feeling is quite alot inside.

There are lots of food available so save some space for the cake desserts which are pretty nice too.

Brunch  Smile Jul 09, 2011

This is definitely a place to come, and to come again. A nice cozy little restaurant located in Mandarin Gallery, with a nice relaxing ambiance. The menu was written on the board, with iPad showing the photos of the food. All the food certainly looks good and I had such a tough time deciding.

I ordered the california breakfast, which was scrambled egg with tofu, peppers, mushroom and herbs, on ciabatta. The egg was light and fluffy, and has the nice herb taste. Everything is mixed nicely and complements each other.

I will definitely come back again for the food and place.

Fish baked rice Smile Jun 18, 2011

This is one of my favorite places for its baked rice. It comes with a soup of the day, which is usually very delicious. The soup today was corn soup, which was flavorful and sweet.

I ordered the fish baked rice this time. The rice is not soggy, nicely baked with lots of cheese that fills the entire plate. The fish is soft and goes very well with the cheese and cream. The portion of the rice is quite a lot and I could not finish them, especially with the amount of cheese that makes one even fuller.

Nasi Lemak Smile Jun 08, 2011

This nasi lemak always has a long queue so I decided to give it a try. The rice has a very fragrant coconut taste and it the rice is very well cooked. It is not wet, soggy and sticky. It costs $2 for 3 items which is very cheap. I love the chicken wings and long beans. The chicken wings are very crispy and well-flavoured. The long beans are cooked with shrimps and they are very crunchy. I think the luncheon meat is a little small and taste like normal. A very nice breakfast to start off your day.

Curry Puff Smile Jun 07, 2011

Just standing near the stall, you could sniff the curry fragrance coming out from this curry puff stall. At $1.30 for a piece, it is slightly costly but it certainly is delectable. I think it is better than Old Chang Kee curry puff. The curry puff is still hot when I bought it. The skin is crispy and it does not stick to one’s teeth and it is not dry too which I think is very important. The filling has potato, egg and chicken and the amount given is pretty decent. Though this is a deep fried food, after eating the mouth does not get really oily at all thus does not make one sick of it. The curry fragrance lingers in your mouth and it is not spicy at all. The chicken is tender and the potato is soft. This curry puff is really a good snack to have.
