Vanilla Puff Smile Aug 30, 2011

Beard papa vanilla puff is certainly fantastic. The puff is very soft on the outside and it is also slightly crispy. Inside the puff is actually a thick layer of cold vanilla cream. The cream just oozes into your mouth when you bite it right in the middle. The vanilla has a slightly sweet taste and it does not make one sick of it. It costs $1.40 for one which is a little expensive.

Chwee Kueh Smile Aug 30, 2011

The Chwee Kueh is famous and delicious here and it always draws a crowd. It is soft and gives a good bite and it is not sticky which is good. The “chai po” is very well-fried and fragrant. The chwee kueh itself is tasteless so this chai po compliments it very well together with the chili. The stall is very generous with the “chai po” too. Though this is a delicious breakfast or snack to have, it is pretty oily so not advisable to take it often.

Meat Porridge Smile Aug 29, 2011

The pork porridge is cooked to the extent that the rice grain cannot really be seen. The porridge is smooth and sweet. It is thick and not watery. There are lots of meat balls in it too. The meat balls are well marinated with pepper and sesame oil. This porridge is a good meal if one prefers something light.

Fried Carrot Cake Smile Aug 29, 2011

The carrot cake comes with the white or dark ones. I prefer the white one. The carrot cake is well-fried from the golden brown appearance, and has a good taste supposed from the strong heat and duration of cooking. The egg is slightly crispy and the carrot cake is soft. It has lots of egg and the serving is generous too.

Minced Meat Noodle Smile Aug 29, 2011

The minced meat noodle is pretty good at this stall. In my opinion, the noodles must leave a good bite and cannot be soggy. Further, the sauce must be good to give the noodles the taste else the noodles are bland. The minced meat noodle from this stall fits the criteria. In the noodles, you can find meat balls, minced meat, lean meat, mushroom, pig’s liver and lettuce. The mushroom is very well-cooked in the slow cooker and has a very nice dark vinegar taste. A good meal for your lunch.
