Black Sesame Snow Ice OK Jan 02, 2012

Black sesame paste is usually a hot dessert and I guess seeing black sesame snow ice is something special for most of us. As someone who loves to try different food, I decided to give this a shot. The black sesame snow ice taste unique and fragrant. The paste is pretty thick and not too sweet. The taste does not make one feel sick of it as I can finish the whole bowl. This dessert is good for people who wish to try out something new.

Jack Daniel Steak OK Dec 24, 2011

T.G.I.F has been around for some time but have not stepped in before so decided to give it a try for dinner. It was pretty packed on a weekend. As a steak lover, I picked the Jack Daniel steak since it is one of their signature dish. The steak is tender and succulent. However, the Jack Daniel sauce seem to taste like the sweet sauce from Soon Kueh. Too much of the sauce actually makes one sick of it. The steak is served with Zucchini and mashed potato sides. The meal is not too bad but it is pretty expensive.

Chocolate Snow Ice OK Dec 24, 2011

The snow ice dessert caught my eye as I did not have it for some time. There was quite a variety to choose from and I was spoilt for choice initially. Finally decided to go for the safe and tested chocolate snow ice and it comes with nata de coco. The flavour of the snow ice is not as good as those from Shenzhen that I had tasted. It doesn't taste bad, just that perhaps the taste did not hit that level. It is not too sweet which is good. The nata de coco is my favourite and it goes well with the snow ice. The portion for the nata de coco could have been more.

Terriyaki Chicken Set  OK Oct 25, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

This is a good place for a quiet and sumptuous dinner. The terriyaki chicken set is served on a hot stove and comes with a egg for one to add onto it. It allows the person to see the beauty of the spreading of the egg. The terriyaki sauce was adsorbed well into the chicken. Further, the chicken was also tender making it delicious.

The chawanmushi was smooth and soft such that you can sipped and swallow it. The lime was a special ingredient in it which I had not seen it else where, however there was not really any taste of lime in it. There was mushroom, chicken and gingko in it.

The shashimi was fresh and soft. It tastes good with the wasabi and soya sauce.

Bean Curd, You Tiao & Egg Tart OK Oct 25, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Concept | Desserts and Cakes

This has always been a famous supper place for Singaporeans. The warm bean curd is smooth, tender and is not sweet. Usually, I will add soya milk to it so that the beancurd will not be so dry. Personally, I would prefer the warm one to the cold one. This is because the cold one tend to contain bits of frozen ice and the bean curd can be a little hard.

The you tiao is not very oily so I think it is suitable to dip into the beancurd and eat it. Apart from not being oily, I think the you tiao does not differ significantly from those at other outlets.

The tart does not really appeal from the appearance as they looked very dry on the egg surface. The taste of the tart is of reasonable quality but I think it is still some way away from those in Macau.
