Chwee Kueh Smile Aug 30, 2011

The Chwee Kueh is famous and delicious here and it always draws a crowd. It is soft and gives a good bite and it is not sticky which is good. The “chai po” is very well-fried and fragrant. The chwee kueh itself is tasteless so this chai po compliments it very well together with the chili. The stall is very generous with the “chai po” too. Though this is a delicious breakfast or snack to have, it is pretty oily so not advisable to take it often.

Strawberry Bread Smile Jul 12, 2011

Breadtalk is having a promotion in which bread was sold at 10 for $10 or 1 for $1.10. I bought this strawberry bread which looks very pretty and delicious. The bread has a strawberry rested on it and plenty of strawberry jam too. The bread also has icing sugar. I think the bread is soft and fresh and there is custard in it as well. However, I find the jam too sweet which can make the throat a little uncomfortable. Apart from that, this is a delectable snack.

Ham Bread Smile Jun 27, 2011

This seems a pretty new bread stall in Raffles City Shopping Centre. I was hungry and decided to go in and give their bread a try. I always like ham and I saw this small little ham bread. Without further hesitation and at a cost of $0.70, this bread is certainly worth the buy. The bread is soft and fluffy. The ham was seated at the top of the bread with mayonnaise drizzled over it. The ham was not salty and with the mayonnaise, it tasted great with the bread.

Tapioca Dessert Smile Jun 08, 2011

This is a dessert which contains tapioca and coconut milk which I believed has Thai origins. It tastes better when served cold. The tapioca is very soft and has a very good bite. It compliments the coconut milk well. The coconut milk is fresh and it is not too sweet. It costs $1.20 and contains 8 pieces of tapioca. I think this is a good afternoon snack.

Laksa Smile May 28, 2011

I think I have tried quite a few Qi Ji outlets by now. It has become my new found favorite after being introduced to this shop. If only they would open a shop in the West..

I ordered the laksa takeaway. It was no longer piping hot, but the gravy is still delicious and the chili made it even better. The noodles were slightly soggy but understandable, considering the journey back home. The cockles were very fresh too. You can choose to add prawns instead if you do not like cockles, but it is more expensive.
