porridge Smile Nov 30, 2011

This is the kind of food which you would think of when you are unwell. Something that does not taste too oily and makes you feel warm when you are having flu. So after seeing the doctor, I went straight to the market to find something to fill my stomach so that I can take my medicine. PORRIDGE!! yes, I need that .

It has been awhile that I had eaten this kind of porridge , which is not the smooth type ( cantonese version ). It just came at the right moment that I needed it most. I used to eat this kind of porridge with my dad when I was young. The pork bone stock brings sweetness to the porridge , and the meat ball is so tasty.. Sometimes simple food like this is enough to make your day.

Mee Pok dried Smile Nov 30, 2011

Not sure if the auntie did it on purpose or it was unintentional, she seemed to slow down in preparing the food when the queue shortened. Then you will start to see the queue start to form again in this coffee shop. tongue

This coffeeshop was packed with people when I visited so I had to take away. Waited for quite some time before it was my turn. But this is definitely worth the wait. The mee poh taste great even after I reached home. Every ingredient was really fresh... the prawn was sweet and bouncy.

Btw, pls take note that the noodles are packed in plastic bag and not plastic bowl. I just made use of the bowl to take the picture. If you would like to have it in the container, it would cost additional 20 cents.

Bak Chor Mee OK Nov 29, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Purposely went down to eat my minced meat noodle at this hawker, but only come to realise that they are not opened on Monday. So I am left with no choice but to look for alternative... Saw alot of people are eating this bak chor mee at this stall , so I decided to give it a try.

The noodle came in a small portion and matted together just after a few minutes it was served. I need to ravel the noodles and mix it with the sauces. They also served the wantons like the other famous stall does, but it lacking of taste. Disappointed breakfast...

so so lunch OK Nov 29, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Multi-Cuisine

Wanted to have a quick lunch before bringing back my lttile girl for her afternoon nap. Decided to settle down at Wang's as she wanted to eat bread. I had ordered a bowl of mee rebus and laksa each, one for myself and the other for my hubby. Took the bowl of laksa at first , and realised it taste quite dilute so I changed it with my hubby. The bowl of mee rebus was much better , but lacking of something to make it stand out of the crowd. I think my girl had chosen the best lunch among us shocked

Chicken Rice  Smile Nov 29, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

I am so lucky to find this gem in the east! If I have any oversea friends coming over, I would definitely bring them to this place for chicken rice!chopstick

Isn't it wonderful to eat in an air con restaurant but just paying SGD3.80 for a plate of chicken rice. I am so impressed that every grain of rice is so fragrance , and the softness in the rice is just right. Not too soggy or too hard... I think I can even eat just the rice alone without the chicken! Nice ! Nice! NICE! I can eat this on a 'Tian Tian' basis.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.80
