Prata Smile Jan 29, 2012

Best Prata that I had eaten! BUT the service at the place was quite bad. We went over after eating wanton mee from a couple of stalls down the lane, and we ordered just a few pieces of pratas to share. The service crew seemed to have a kind of snobbish look, which make us really uncomfortable. The tables and chair seemed to be kind of 'oily', and air con was not working well. I can feel the stuffiness in the restaurant even it was raining heavily outside...

The prata was served with this wonderful tasty curry and the prata stayed crispy even after it was dipped in the sauce. The longish prata does not come cheap, but difinitely worth paying.

Strawberry cake Smile Jan 29, 2012

This shop caught my attention on TV years ago, as Japanese cakes were not so common during then. It used to be located near chinatown, and thankfully that I happened to see their moving out notice when I went there to order cakes. Their cakes are light and spongy, and every piece of cake is nicely decorated. The cream is not so sweet , and I wouldn't feel "gelat" after eating 2-3 slices. YUM!

mixed rice Smile Jan 28, 2012

This coffeeshop is famous for their fish head steamboat, and it was extremely crowded when I visited them during then. I waited for almost 1.5 hrs before food was served and that was the last time I visited them for their fish head steamboat. In the afternoon, this coffeeshop serves mixed rice. I like their selection of dish and the price is rather reasonable. I ordered the cabbage, chicken and tau po. I like their version of cabbage as it was really soft and juicy. Tau po was too saltish for me .. even when I eat with rice. Next time , I will definitely try their fish as I overheard that 1 whole piece of fish plus 2 side dish cost only $4.50!

I seldom will visit this place for the main meals but only will order their toasted/fried bread and dessert. The portion for dessert is really huge that can be shared by whole family and the ice shave for the dessert melts rather slowly .
My hubby had ordered their porridge as he was unwell. I took some to try and I really don't like it. It tasted like those instant porridge to me. There wasn't much ingredients in the porridge, which I feel it not worth paying for this dish at this place.
Will only reccommend this place for friend gathering.

masaman curry Smile Jan 26, 2012

Massaman curry was declared "World's Most Delicious Food" by CNN. So when I see this dish being served in Thai Express, I decided to give it a try. This is not quite commonly found in Thai Resturant locally. Most of the time, I only see green curry in the menu. The spice taste rather strong as compare to the green curry. The prata goes well with the curry and I think a bowl of rice might even suit better. I love their beef noodle soup. Not only I enjoyed the sweet tasting soup, I also like the tender beef slices. What a wonderful dinner.
