Nice ice cream but bad service Smile Dec 28, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Was at marina sands with my little girl for the mickey mouse show. Brought her to this ice cream shop after the show ended. She was so excited that she finally could eat ice cream after being sick for days. The counter was kind of high for her so I had to carry her to make her choice if ice cream and then the topping. The service staff was pulling a long face during then, which was rather annoying. He didn't even reply to my questions regarding the toppingsad .. anyway, I would come back to this ice cream chain but will definitely go to other outlet since we both enjoyed it!

Classics Smile Dec 28, 2011

Of those dishes which I have eaten at this tung lok classics, the one which left me with a great impression was the salted egg cod fish. I am not a fan of fish, and deep fried cod fish was not something which I would like. Cod fish was already high in fats , so most places will either steam or grill this fish. I seldom see restaurants do it in this style and this was a hit for me. It didn't taste that oily and the salted egg goes well with the fish. It took away the 'oily" taste of the fish and yet I can taste the sweetness of cod.

I do not really enjoy their dim sum, which I think the standard is quite normal. Their al la cart is much better choice if you are looking for the 'classics".

Thai food Smile Dec 28, 2011

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Curries | Rice | Kids-Friendly

A cardboard of the mediacorp actor was placed right at the entrance, which caught my attention. Only then did I know that this was a thai restaurant, and he was the owner of this restaurant. I was impressed by the service, every staff were polite and helpful. They reminded me of the actor which I always see him smiling on TV.

We ordered olive rice, omelette, crab tang hoon, fish cake and phad thai. Every item was nice , but I do think that the price is a little on the high side if I was to compare to the nearby thai food chain.

Best dish for that day : crab tang hoon, you can taste the crab flavour "embodied" within the strands of tang hoon. Simply delicious.

Not only that my little girl is a fan of this soft Japanese cake, I am also one of their supporters. Sometimes I can even drop by at parkway just to get this cake for our breakfast. It comes in 2 sizes and I normally will go for the big one as this cake still stay fresh even after a few days . I can have it for breakfast and tea break and I never get sick of it. So soft and really melts in the mouth with every bite. love it.

Bak Kut Teh Smile Dec 17, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop | Bak Kut Teh

I always prefer the white version of the bak kut teh over the black as the pepper taste is stronger. This shop served the black version bak kut teh, plus cze char. And they also have this mee sua which I like. Never did I expect that the stock is similar until I eat them side by side. The stock they use for the liver mee sua is similar to the bak kut teh. Only that the colour had been "lightened" by the mee sua. The bak Kut teh was great but I do think that the meat was really little on the pork rib. There were several pieces of pork slices in the mee sua that I lost count.

Prefer to pay for the mee sua as I get to drink the well boiled soup and top with lean pork slices. Perfect!
