Roast duck with unique flavour Smile Aug 03, 2015

lol In Singapore sometimes it's not so easy to find really good Cantonese cuisine.  Four Seasons as a new comer to the scene has been doing a nice job.  It brought authentic Cantonese flavour which you could taste in Hong Kong maybe around 20 years ago, while at that time food tastes more real and less artificial, to Singapore.

It's signature dish of roast duck is unique.  Different from the crispy version of roast duck in Imperial Treasure and Min Jiang, it stressed on 'Cantonese' style.  You shouldn't expect crispy skin but a flavourful, tender and juicy texture of duck meat, beneath the duck's fat skin.  It's not as chewy as duck, but it's texture is more similar to chicken, which is a nice plus.

The crispy pork belly is good, but if it cuts in cube shape and thus in each bite you have a bigger surface area of crispy pork skin would be marvellous.  Yet the mustard is a bit too salty and when you dipped it with spicy sauces the bitter taste stood out.

The soup of poached veggie is great, and you may really want to drink them after eating the veggie.  The selection of dessert is also fantastic because it has more traditional desserts like 拔絲香蕉 and 蘋果.  If it shortened the time to serve them after they have been made it would be very good because if it took a little bit too long the deep-fries batter on it would become not crispy anymore.

The services is good as they serve the dishes very quickly.  What a pity is that even on a Sunday evening it seems that it could just serve one round of customers.  Maybe it's too new to be known by foodies in Singapore.

It has 4 pieces but when I took the pic we are 1 already :p

chopsticklollol I have been going to Miharu when it was in Mohamand Sultan and now it has been moved to Millenia Walk.  Why it is such a place worth a visit is because it offers authentic Sapporo ramen in Singapore.  There are a variety of ramen in different places in Japan and in Hokkaido because of it's cold weather the soup base is always those creamy pork or very thick ones.  Miharu keeps this style and offers thick soup based ramen, like the one I shared here the seafood miso soup (no. 11 on the menu).  It's so delicious because it really gives the 'umami' taste and you might not be able to resist in drinking all its soup.  The choice of noodles also facilitate the thick soup attached to it.  The thoughtfulness of these reflected the detailed mind of the chef in matching the soup and the noodles.

Also it's gyoza is quite a signature dish as its close to Japanese taste with a slightly crispy bottom and soft, thin and tender skin.  Yummy!

That's why you shouldn't surprised when you go there during weekends filled with Japanese.

lollollol It's a place which combined the famous Monocle shop and coffee shop, yet it only serves coffee.  The outdoor seats are great, with its wooden furniture and its white decoration.  If you're a fan of Monocle, or if you like to have a good cup of coffee after dinner at restaurants at Chip Bee Garden, it's a great place to go with friends have good chats in.

lollollol Luxe opened this first branch outside Sydney.  I haven't been to its Sydney outlet but I do feel traces of Australia style here, simple and clean decoration, but with traces of luxury atmosphere.  It's quite comfy to have dinner there.  The food is quite good and with its boldness in trying to integrating some Southeast flavour to its Australian cuisine, such as the one I ordered Grilled Octopus with XO sauce, and raw fish appetizer.  These are good try yet it could be better, like grilled octopus could be stir fry to make the taste more exciting.  It's signature dish Luxe Burger is interesting as its served with squid ink made bread.  Fries aside are good, but the patty could be more juicy.  In general it's ok and good to come again, particularly the service level is high.

lolThis place although it says that it's dashi master but in fact it's Japanese food in general are all good!  From tempura to beef yakitori udon!

I had beef yakitori cold udon here and when it's served the waiter served it with bonito.  When mixed it with the beef yakitori and the soft boiled egg it's a very delicious mix.  Also the steamed egg custard is very soft, and the potato salad served with it is fantastic... With complicated taste and delicious potato mash.  My colleague who had tempura also high praised it as it's not oily, that means it's been deep fried in the right temperature, and the flour on the tempura is not excessive.

The coffee after meal is also good.  Traditional and authentic Japanese coffee, clear, long after taste and silky.

Highly recommended.
