Desserts Delights Smile Jul 09, 2013

Once you stepped into Lime, you will be greeted with a very Zen like furnishing with a lovely potpourri of modern and traditional design. It's very relaxing with loads of natural lighting and definitely a great place for a chill weekend with friends and family. The thing that stands out here are the desserts. In particularly the Key Lime pie. The lime filling was soft and subtle and sweet! Topped off with sinful whipped cream that has a nice burnt finishing to it. Pair this with a cup of coffee!smile

Here is the dessert spread at the buffet table. Another dessert worth mentioning is the chocolate tart (it's on the plate) which is very rich and I love the crust! smile

Cheap Mee Sua Smile Jun 20, 2013

Don't be fooled by the messy look of this dish! The mee sua at Hong Hu Express is really good! One of the main thing is that their broth is very good. Flavourful, not too salty or greasy and elevates the simple mee sua. There is a generous sprinkling of ikan bilis, vegetables, minced pork and egg in the bowl plus silky mee sua. If you prefer your mee sua a bit more "al dante", this is not for you. They are incredibly soft which is how I like them. Cheap and good!

Succulent pork! Smile Jun 20, 2013

This is one damn awesome dish! I think it's called the Buta Shiokojijyu which basically is BBQ pork with some special sauce (There always seem to be some special sauce in Japanese cuisine). The pork is the winning element of this dish. Tender, juicy and succulent, salty and oh so good! The delicious flavour rolls around on your tongue, and you pair it with the rice. Drooling just writing this. There is a scoop of mash potato and some vegetables with this dish but I would happily trade them all in for a few more extra slice of that pork! mad

However, due to the crowd at Orchard Central, it is very difficult to get the attention of the staff there so you have to be patient. Plus, if you go at peak hours, prepare to queue.

Cheesy  OK Jun 20, 2013

Fried stuff and cheese dip. What can go wrong? Basically you get a platter of french fries, onion rings and nuggets to dip into a fondue of cheese. The fries were okay (I prefer my fries with my crispiness and crunch, yet still thick enough) but the onion rings were a tad soft so perhaps they fried this earlier. So we have fats, starch, and carbs which means get ready to feel bloated afterwards.

Cake at Kki Smile Jun 20, 2013

This is the Basil milk chocolate with Bitter Orange cake. The top part has some gelatin orange jelly adds a bit of tang which matches well with the smooth chocolate taste of the cake. And infused into the cake is this subtle basil flavour! It doesn't taste too strong so it adds that element of surprise and was quite refreshing. Not your average chocolate cake for sure!
