Fong Kee Delicacies  Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre

The Food
I order a plate of Pan Fried Dumplings filled with minced meat and vegetables. The gravy from the minced meat and vegetables was oozing out with every mouthful of the dumpling but I find that it would have been better if the dumplings skin were crispier and not so oily. The dumpling skin is chewy and has good texture

The Price
Reasonably priced at $4 with generous portion

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

Hong Kee Porridge Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

The Food
I ordered a bowl of Pork Porridge with an Egg. The Pork Porridge was very tasty and the texture of the porridge was watery and not the thick and gooey type but having said that, the porridge was filled with the essence from the sliced pork, homemade meatballs, liver and eggs. The ingredients are all very fresh, especially the liver which is also not over-cooked and pork. I think it would have been even better if they add fried spring onions and lard to make it more fragrant.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $3 with generous portion

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

Shin Minori Buffet Delight Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

The Food
It has been a long time since I had Japanese buffet hence I had Ala-Carte buffet dinner with my family at this Japanese Restaurant called Shin Minori. Here's what I have ordered:

- Sashimi Moriwase
The Sashimi Moriwase has assorted Sashimi like Maguro, Shake, Hamachi, Taj, Makajiki, Tako and Ika. The Sashimi is fresh and the thickness of each slice is perfect, not too thick or thin. Most importantly, I am able to taste the sweetness of each of the seafood.

- Tebasaki
Tebasaki, also known as Chicken Wings is delicious and are grilled perfectly till the skin is crispy and fragrant.

- Agedashi Toufu
Their Agedashi Toufu is crispy on the outer crust and soft on the inside. The chicken broth goes well with the toufu giving the dish more Oomph!.

- Niku Jaga
This dish is Stewed Pork Belly with Potato and Carrot. The pork belly is very tender and it has absorbed the sweetness from the carrots. The carrots and potatoes are stewed till they are nice and soft and can even taste the natural sweetness of this fantastic combination.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $33++ with wide variety of food to choose from

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

Rong Guang BBQ Seafood Delight Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Seafood | BBQ

The Food
I ordered Sambal Stingray and a plate of their Signature Noodles. The Sambal Stingray is superb and the sambal chilli is spicy and very tasty. The stingray is BBQ till the meat is nice and juicy. The sambal chilli sauce goes extremely well with the stingray but it can be quite spicy for those who do not take spicy food. Their Signature Noodles looks and tastes like Hokkien Mee but the only difference is that they added fresh clams into the dish. The noodle is delicious as it has absorbed the goodness of the seafood ingredients like prawns, sotong, eggs, bean sprouts and clams. The sambal chilli which they used for the Singray also complements well with the noodles, enhancing more flavour and spiciness to the dish!

The Price
Reasonably priced at $20++ for the whole bill

Overall
I find that the food is pretty good and for BBQ lovers out there, you can check out this place!

Tong Lok Kway Chap  Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop

The Food
I ordered a plate of mixed ingredients like tau pok, salted vegetables, pig intestines and lor bak with 2 bowls of kway. I find that the Kway can be even better if the soup is thicker and tastier. They can also add fried spring onions to make it even more fragrant. The salted vegetables are not too salty and I find it just nice. The tau pok is nicely absorbed with the dark stewed sauce. As for the pig intestines, it is stewed till it's nice, chewy and soft. It has been cleaned thoroughly hence does not have any strong porky taste. Lastly, the lor bak is highly recommended as the taste is heavenly. The lor bak is stewed till it's so soft that even the layer of fat just dissolve in my mouth.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $4 with 2 bowls of "Kway".

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!
