For this week only, the natural artesian water company has partnered with Roadhouse to come up with a three-course menu just for your secretary. Priced at $35++ and served with a bottle of Fiji Water, the menu starts off with the BBQ Ranch Chopped Chicken Salad made with wood-roasted corn and peppers, avocado, red onion, chopped tomatoes, feta cheese and chipotle. For sure, she will adore this dish because of its smokey flavour complemented by the freshness of the ingredients.

Other notable mentions are the: Philly Cheese Burger, eanut Butter and Banana Bread and Butter Pudding served with salted caramel and vanilla bean ice cream. To find out what we thought of these dishes, read our full review:

Makan Hunt: Tim Ho Wan OK Apr 11, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Dim Sum | Noodles | Kids-Friendly

Everyone seems to know Tim Ho Wan. The famed dim sum restaurant started out as a hole-in-the-wall eatery in Hong Kong and earned its bragging rights after being awarded its first Michelin star in 2009.

It seems like all patrons want a piece of the “Big 4 Heavenly Kings” – especially the iconic Baked Bun with BBQ Pork.

Filled with sweet-salty barbecued pork, the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork ($4.50 for three pieces) is crumbly and fluffy on the outside and moist and warm on the inside. Our verdict of this one “Heavenly King”? You wouldn’t believe how amazing the pastry is, but they could’ve been more generous with the filling. One layer of BBQ pork is more than a little sad.

The remaining three dishes, Vermicelli Roll with Pig’s Liver ($5.50), Steamed Egg Cake ($3.80 for one piece) and Pan Fried Carrot Cake ($4.50 for three pieces) aren't that memorable, with the skin of the Vermicelli Roll being too thick, the Steamed Egg Cake coming off as just average, and the Carrot Cake – a little too oily.

Crazy Huge Portions at Spathe Smile Apr 03, 2013

Categories : European

Aren’t you sick of small food portions here in Singapore? Apparently many eateries have not spared a thought for the folks with big appetites!

In view of this first world problem many of us are facing, Spathe Public House truly is a godsend. The newest addition to the Mohamed Sultan dining enclave (filled with a number of noteworthy F&B outlets such as The Patissier and Chikuwa Tei), Spathe (pronounced ‘s • pey • th’) is all about communal dining and mammoth portions to feed large groups of friends and families.

With brick walls, plush red booth seats, and heaps of warm colours all around from the use of wood, Spathe radiates this sort of “New York neighbourhood” vibe, which is further enhanced by the display of graffiti art on the walls – the perfect setting for get-togethers!

Spathe’s menu consists of several sections, including ‘Mammoth Signatures’, ‘Sp

athe Classics’, ‘Fresh Greens’, ‘Pocket Plates’, ‘Desserts’ and of course, ‘Thirst Quenchers’, which showcase a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are even brunch and set lunch menus!

Beef Items at Greenhouse! Smile Apr 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Restaurant | Buffet

Greenhouse has always been known for its weekend brunches. But from today till the 26th of May, you have the perfect reason to drop by this fancy restaurant at Ritz Carlton for dinner as well… more specifically, on a Wednesday.

Earlier this month, it has introduced its “Beef Night at Greenhouse” promotion every Wednesday night, which brings 11 beef items to its already impressive buffet spread. These won’t be hard to miss for as soon as you step into this spacious restaurant which has a high ceiling and a mixture of brown and cream coloured walls, you will immediately see the carving station in the centre.

Right in the middle is a chef, who is more than willing to assist you in slicing the main beef items. For our recommendation, head straight for the Wagyu Beef Tomahawk. This beef is always selling like pancakes because of its flavours and juices concealed in every portion of the meat… especially in the fats! It has also retained that tender texture you will surely enjoy.

There are many more items you can enjoy at Greenhouse. To find out what these are, click the link for the full review:
