Don’t you agree that nothing makes your day more than a good breakfast? Though you may want to prepare your own meal every day, it may be difficult for a working professional (like you) to wake up early and do it yourself.

You don’t have to for there are many restaurants in Singapore which offer breakfast meals, and one of these is Kung Fu Paradise. From now until 30 April 2013, this café has the “All-Day Breakfast Bonanza” promotion which features a range of items to satisfy a grumbling tummy. Are you a late sleeper? Worry not for these items are available all throughout the day so you can wake up any time you want and still get the chance to enjoy them.

For all the dishes on their menu, you can click here for the full review:

Spending per head: Approximately $20(Breakfast)

Craving for paella, tapas and all things Mediterranean? Make reservations at 21 on Rajah, the brand new restaurant at the Days Hotel in Balestier – one of Singapore’s most established food destinations.

The cuisine that is trademark of the 21 countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea (that explains the restaurant’s name) is the star of the menu, meticulously created by Paul Then, Director of Culinary Operations. However, this Mediterranean vibrancy extends well past the food; step into the restaurant and you’d immediately pick up these exotic vibes by looking at the décor of the interior.

Here at 21 on Rajah, communal dining is encouraged – not just for the tapas but for the mains too! The Prawn and Bacon Roll ($13.90) is a sinfully satisfying choice; bacon-wrapped prawns deep fried to crispy perfection and topped with zucchini pesto sauce and sesame crackers… doesn’t that sound heavenly?

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Seafood | Buffet

Seafood and international favourites aside, you can now sink your teeth into classic Thai fare at Marina Mandarin’s Halal-certified buffet restaurant AquaMarine from now till 31 March 2013.

Take a culinary trip to the Land of Smiles and whet your appetite with Guest Chef Aek Charttrakul’s signature dishes. Appetisers such as the highly addictive Kao Tang Na Tang (Crispy Rice Crackers with Chicken Dip – pictured left), Mee Krob (Crispy Noodles in Sweet & Sour Sauce – pictured right) and Yam Pla Duk Foo (Crispy Catfish & Green Mango Salad) make perfect starters before you dive into the mains.

You can’t say you’ve truly had your fill at a Thai restaurant until you try two main Thai cuisine stars – Phad Thai (Stir-fried Noodles with Prawn – pictured right) and Tom Yum Goong (Spicy & Sour Prawn Soup with Galangal and Lemongrass – pictured left) – and there’s no reason why you should give those a miss here.

Singapore doesn’t have winter seasons like Japan. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the wintry delights the country has to offer for this period. From now until 25 March 2013 only, all outlets of Sushi Tei are having the Epicurean Winter Delights where you can enjoy seasonal items which go beyond their usual sushi and sashimi.

Let’s begin with the Ankimo Ponzu (Monkfish liver) which is soaked in soya sauce. The seasonal menu won’t really be complete without it for liver is considered to be one of Japan’s precious delicacies during cold weather. It’s also known for its rich taste and soft texture, which is usually compared to Foie Gras.

For familiar favourites, they also have the Salmon Oyako Roll ($10) and Bamboo Oyster Roll ($8). The salmon is just average, so if you’re looking for something interesting, we suggest you go for the Bamboo Oyster Roll. The idea behind this dish came from the bamboo sushi, where a piece of hollowed bamboo is stuffed with Sushi Rice and Sashimi. For this epicurean item, their chefs used cucumber strips to wrap the ingredients of pan-fried oysters, egg, and tomatoes. The result is a refreshing take on this popular item.

One of France’s most famous steak places (which was born in Paris in 1968), Hippopotamus Restaurant Grill, now occupies a cosy and casual space on the first level of Marina Square. Just like its 130 plus outlets in its native country, its first restaurant in Singapore offers you a myriad of steaks, classic French appetisers, sauces and sides suited for every foodie! To add on to these signatures, Hippopotamus has also introduced new items to its current menu.

Your trip to Hippopotamus won’t really be complete if you don’t try the steaks! One specialty is the Skirt Steak ($18.90), which is a cut from the plate of the mule. Though it’s not known for its tenderness, it’s still a popular choice for the meat just bursts with flavour. For true steak lovers, another dish to try is the Tartare Grilled ($20.90), which is a 180g of minced meat barely seared on each side.
