Apple Pie  Smile Jul 13, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Island Creamery here only has a small shop front, and hard to get seats. Thus, I chose the take home pack instead. I was lucky to take away the last apple pie in the freezer! Apple pie belongs to the red label, which cost $10 per tub, while the blue labels are more expensive, costly $12. The ice cream is of very good quality, creamy and without any ice crystal. There are chunks of digestive biscuit, and apple. Thick cinnamon taste throughout the ice cream. Yum!

Spending per head: Approximately $10

Chewy Junior OK Jul 12, 2013

Categories : Desserts and Cakes

Chewy Junior is best eaten on the day itself I would guess. I bought a pack of six, and had the Oreo one for snack while leaving the other 5 for the next day breakfast. The Oreo one was great, but for the rest, they tasted awful the next day. It was hard instead of soft and chewy that was supposed to be characteristic of the puffs. The double chocolate with chocolate rice crisp on top was the worst. It was soft instead of crunchy.

Value Set Lunch  Smile Jul 12, 2013

Categories : European | Pasta | Paella

Set lunch are always priced so much better than dinner. Another plus point for dining here during lunch, it is less crowded, resulting in better and faster service. I had the Bratwurst Sausage ($9.90). Versions of it varies greatly across germany, and I am not sure if this could be considered as the "authentic" version. The meat is juicy and tender, but the casing is lacking in the well roasted crunchiness.

Pretzel  Smile Jul 12, 2013

Auntie Anne is the first place that I would think of when the word pretzel is mentioned. Even the plain pretzel taste good, especially when it is warm and fresh, soft and chewy. It looks fun to watch them making the pretzel, it seemed so easy. My favorite by far is the cinnamon sugar, which make the pretzel even more fragment because of the spice, enhanced by the sugar.

Paris Baguette in the west! Smile Jul 12, 2013

I was so happy that Paris Baguette has a outlet in the west! Same as its outlet in Orchard, Paris Baguette is packed to the brim when I was there.

From left to right is Wake Up Jane, Clam Chowder and Blueberry Buttons. Priced around $6 for each, my favorite is the Blueberry Button. It is a small portion of sweet pastry, just the right size to finish alone without feeling sick of it. Wake Up Jane consists of spinach, sausage and egg. It is so packed with ingredients that it is really enough for a breakfast, and thus its name. Clam chowder is creamy and full of flavor.
