Flour. Flour and more flour Cry Jun 28, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fast Food | Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches

I came to VeganBurg out of curiousity with a couple of friends and decided to give this a try.

Personally I'm a meat person and this just doesn't cut it.

We tried their Char-Grilled Satay Burger. The meat taste floury underneath the thick layer of smokey sauce.

We had Vegan franks. It tasted really floury and I wasn't used to it.

The best food I had at VeganBurg was their crispy potato and spinach pops which would probably be an average dish outside. sad

Disappointing Cry Mar 21, 2013
Categories : Hainanese | Chicken Rice

The last time I went to Nam Kee was probably 5 years ago, when there was still long queue and the minimum waiting time to get a seat was 30 minutes.

5 years later, I decided to visit this place again because I really miss the food there! But I was greatly disappointed by the standard of the food served now as I grew up having the chicken rice here for lunch with my family every Sunday.

The chicken no longer taste tender and fresh, it carries a weird taste for both roast and steam chicken a like. I'm guessing they probably used frozen chicken to prepare. sad

This is the only dish that is palatable. The fried tofu is slightly above average, not the best I've had. Comparing this to what they used to serve, this is a substandard.

Deep fried prawn. There was totally no "wok hei" fragrance even though it's deep fried. The batter was bland.

Stir fried kai lan with garlic. just average.

I guess this is the last time I'll visit Nam Kee. sad

Average breakfast set Cry Feb 28, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese | Restaurant

Decided to try their all day breakfast set since i was in the vicinity during dinner time.

For $12.90 it comes with a drink.

The mushroom was sauteed till bitter. Toast with served without butter (which I'd prefer it to be served with). Bean was cold. hash brown was stale. Nothing special.

I don't think I'd be back again.

Decided to have a quick late lunch before rushing to collect some stuff that I purchased online at Long John Silver. It was an alfresco area for diners to have their meal. I had the grilled salmon with rice and an add on of $2.90 for a side and a regular drink. I chose coleslaw for the side. In total I paid $9.05. Wasn't really satisfied for the amount spent cause when it came, its kind of substandard. I could have had a hearty fast food meal at EWF for 99cents more. The salmon was great on its own, just that some parts were over grilled and dry while the rest was nicely done. Heh.

Here's my take, don't order the rice sets. They are overpriced!

Less Than Average Food. Cry Jan 16, 2013
Categories : Thai | Halal

Went there with a colleague for cheap lunch and decided to go for Thai food. To be honest, the Thai factor is lacking in the food, it tastes pretty much like zi char to me.

Crispy Noodles with seafood - the sauce was bland and unappetizing, it couldn't bring out the flavour of the noodles. The only saving grace was that the prawns were fresh.

Minced Chicken with basil leaves. Surprisingly this dish didn't taste that bad. The minced chicken was tender and well marinated with flavour of the basil.

Mango sticky rice that fairs below average. Coconut milk sauce was grainy and not smooth to be drizzled over.
