Yoghurt Goodness OK Mar 21, 2013
Categories : Frozen Yogurt

Situated at B4 of ION, this is one of the place that I usually go to when I need some yoghurt fix.

Yami Yoghurt is one of the first brand that brought frozen yoghurt to Singapore. Many years back I remember it used to taste really sweet and sugary and watery without much dairy in it.

So here's it! Peach flavoured frozen yoghurt with little balls of marshmallow atop. Usually I like my yoghurt sans topping, but I saw the cute little marshmallow topping that looked so irresistible at that moment. They looked deceiving.

The marshmallow had a layer of hard crush around them, and I'm guess it's because it has been left out in the open for a long time... shocked

The medium cup of the yoghurt cost $3.90, cost of per topping is $0.95.

I'll stick to having my yoghurt sans topping the next time. tongue

Beancurd OK Mar 21, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Singaporean | Desserts and Cakes

Amasoy is conveniently nestled among all the other over-the-counter eateries at B4 of ION.

This is the first time I tried Amasoy's beancurd and I had to get the original flavour. Having tried other brands selling pudding-like tau huey, I guess I can't really tell the difference between the brands with my eyes closed. It comes in a small plastic bowl at $1.80 each. The texture of the tau huey was smooth and silky.

Something for Amasoy to take note of if you happen to be reading this: Please improve on the hygiene level when preparing the beancurd. Found a strand of pubic-like hair in the tau huey.

Average breakfast set Cry Feb 28, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese | Restaurant

Decided to try their all day breakfast set since i was in the vicinity during dinner time.

For $12.90 it comes with a drink.

The mushroom was sauteed till bitter. Toast with served without butter (which I'd prefer it to be served with). Bean was cold. hash brown was stale. Nothing special.

I don't think I'd be back again.

Pricey dessert OK Feb 28, 2013

Nestled along the basement fast food outlets of ION Orchard, Mei Heong Yuen offers around 5 tiny tables for patrons to sit around to have their after meal desserts.

My friends and I waited close to 15 minutes to get a seat of 4. And here's what we had.

Mango shaved ice. This was rather ordinary and nothing special.

Tang yuan with peanut and sesame fillings in ginger soup. Love the fragrant of the ginger soup but other than that, nothing special as well.

The two dishes of dessert cost close to $10. I'd think it's a little too pricey for average desserts like this.

Decided to have a quick late lunch before rushing to collect some stuff that I purchased online at Long John Silver. It was an alfresco area for diners to have their meal. I had the grilled salmon with rice and an add on of $2.90 for a side and a regular drink. I chose coleslaw for the side. In total I paid $9.05. Wasn't really satisfied for the amount spent cause when it came, its kind of substandard. I could have had a hearty fast food meal at EWF for 99cents more. The salmon was great on its own, just that some parts were over grilled and dry while the rest was nicely done. Heh.

Here's my take, don't order the rice sets. They are overpriced!
