I worked overtime and decided to have a quick dinner at Ayam Penyet Ria before I return to office to OT.

Ordered the Ayam Penyet Boneless chicken set meal that comes with a plate of rice. If I didn't remember wrongly, this meal cost me $6.50.

Chicken serving portion was huge. The chicken was crispy and smelt great. It also comes with some Kang kong vegetables which tasted normal only. It only has those crispy fried little bits that tasted great. It also comes with two fried toufu.

Serving time was quite fast. Despite the restaurant was at full capacity, my meal came in less than 10 minutes. Overall, if you are looking for cheap and decent taste Ayam Penyet in Orchard, this Ayam Penyet Ria restaurant is worthwhile for you to try.

Had dinner at Jurong Point Banquet and decided to order Chicken with Black Pepper, that comes with a bowl of rice, 1 egg and a bowl of soup and total cost is $6.30.

The chicken serving portion was quite a lot and I love how the black pepper brings out the flavor of the chicken. Also, the chicken meat was tender enough and the spring onion also helps to make it tasty. I love this meal as the serving portion is just nice for me and I felt very full after my dinner.

Here are some photos of my food:

Went to have dinner at Xin Wang Cafe at Yew Tee & I ordered the following dishes, Signature Chicken Chop Rice, Pan Fried Dumplings and here's the photos of my food.

Signature Chicken Chop Rice

Pan Fried Dumplings

The Signature Chicken Chop Rice consist of Fried Rice and a huge piece of chicken chop. I was very disappointed with my fried rice as it appeared that some portion of my fried rice was half-cooked as the rice tasted hard & uncooked when I ate it. Chicken chop was nice. Signature Chicken Chop rice cost $9.90.

For the Pan Fried Dumpling, there are 5 pieces given for a plate that cost $5.90. I love the dumplings. It is crispy, smelt great and tasted great. I love it!

In total, my dinner for one person cost me $18.60. There are service charge & GST involved. I personally think it's expensive as the Signature Chicken Chop is just a plain fried rice that comes with the chicken chop. I was expecting something more as they named it as one of their signature dishes.

We decided to stop by Seoul Garden Hot Pot for our dinner. We ordered the Clam Hot Pot with the Kimchi Jjigae stock and comes with a bowl of rice. The Clam Hot Pot cost $9.90. We also ordered the deep fried chicken nuggets which cost $4.90. In total our meal cost $17.30, inclusive of GST and service charge.

Clam Hot Pot:

Look at the generous serving of clams. They simply gave a lot of clams in the Hot Pot and they tasted delicious. The Kimchi soup base was equally nice too and both of us loved it. The Hot Pot also contained thick translucent bee hoon, cabbage, cucumber and yummy mushrooms. I love mushrooms! smile

Here's the deep fried chicken nuggets:

We also love the chicken nuggets. Each bite will cause the juice to ooze out of the chicken nugget and each nugget skin is crunchy while the meat is soft and tender. It's a nice combination altogether.

We had a pleasant dining experience for our dinner. I almost forgot to mention. This restaurant is halal, a great place for our Muslim friends to bring their family out for a nice and yummy meal. I would recommend this place to my friends too. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 as mediocre and 10 as very yummy, I would give the overall dining experience as a rating of 7.

Fruit Salad Smile Dec 27, 2012

After our lunch, we ordered some cut fruits from the Kopitiam stall. We took Star Fruit, Watermelon, pineapple, papaya and in total I paid $3.80 for this bowl of fruit salad.

The Star Fruit had a slightly bitter taste to it and we didn't really like it. For the papaya, the taste was normal. The watermelon was quite juicy. We felt that the pineapple was the best as it's the most juiciest and also the most freshest out of all the 4 fruits that we had chosen.
