Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Meeting my 2 pretty cousin ‘Dim Sum Dollies’ (Will get chop after I post this cos making fun of their figure) They told me eating dim sum is okay as most of the stuff is steamed (haha). We went to Crystal Jade at Great World City. Ordered fried noodle, steam prawn dumpling, Siew Mai, Braised Chicken Feet, Dumpling soup, Beancurd skin ball, Shui Gao.

Oh my, where do I begin, overall their dim sum is all fresh, well cooked, piping hot and delicious.Even the beehoon was smooth and QQ and tasted of high quality fit for a chinese wedding banquet. My favourite would be the braised chicken feet because it’s soft and ‘collagenish’ the skin slip off easily from the bone.

Crysal Jade and Dim sum is one of my many favourite things in the world and I definitely will return or check out the rest of their other branches.

Epicurious Smile Jul 31, 2013

Brunching at Cafe Epicurious @ The Rail Mall . The ambience of this place is cool and modern, but for some reason the servers seem to be having a bad day and everyone’s having a grumpy face. We ordered Eggs Benedict and Breakfast Burrito.

Zesty Hollandaise sauce drizzled over soft poached eggs, smoked ham and chewy muffin. This was a sight for sore eyes. Line them up in order to eat a bite of each and one go, and you'll get a heavenly perfect taste and texture combination.

Hearty breakfast burrito , soft and chewy tortilla skin filled with scrambled eggs, savoury chorizo and tomatoes tasted great in a big bite, it was well wrapped so no ingredients fell out like usual sloppy done ones.
A side of tangy salsa (although it was just onions and tomatoes) and delicious yummy roasted potatoes.

Both of the dishes's fruit side servings of watermelon slice was sweet.

Japanese Buffet Smile Jul 31, 2013

Came to Irodori for a Japanese food feasting session with hubby. We repeatedly ordered plates and plates of their fresh cut salmon and tuna as it was succulent and velvety. They offer grilled dishes here too, my top picks were Kanistick bacon Maki, sweet tasting crabstick wrapped with savory bacon; Yakitori, scrumptious chicken cut into bite size and glazed with teriyaki sauce then grilled to perfection. Rarely seen appetizer Soramame(Broad bean) is served here, firm green in colored bean looked plain but has great beanie flavors. I love their teppan yaki section, buta kimuchee is delicious, tender pork slice with sour and crunchy kimchi. My favorite dish all time is Tempura Ebi, crispy battered coating a pale orange delectable ebi. At a reasonable price $35++ we get to eat unlimited supply of fresh sashimi, sushi, teppan yaki, etc. I’ll be back for sure.

Capricci Italian Restaurant Smile Jul 31, 2013

We were having our annual wedding photo shoot session at Duxton area, so decided to go somewhere quiet for a nice dinner date.
The ambience of this place is romantic and elegant, staff has great service with great smiles.

We ordered their Dinner set. I’m pretty happy that they serve warm dinner rolls after we’ve placed our orders as we're already very hungry.

Pistachio Crusted Lamb are tender lamb pieces that's covered with crusted/chopped pistachios to have that crispy texture. Lamb meat was very delectable and I didn't get any of the unpleasant "lamb" taste as it's well paired with the flavour of the limoncello cream.

Tenderloin was well cooked , slow-roasted to perfection , had such a soft juicy texture I just wanted to chew with my gums and enjoy all possible flavours of it.

For dessert, Tiramisu was sweet, so moist and overwhelmed by its velvet fluffiness.
The chocolate cake was alright, probably good but because all the great stuff we've been eating ranks this lowest. Strawberries were fresh to neutralize all the heavy flavoured stuff we've been eating.

I regretted not bringing our DSLR here because the visual appeal of the ambience and food were all so pretty but after all it's our special day and didn't want to carry around bulky equipment. The dimlight didn't help with the phone photography which doesn't justify how it looks in person.

As we finished everything, Hubby who eats like a recycling centre said these barely filled him up and asked me again “what’s for dinner?” -_-

Carousel Smile Jul 31, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Seafood | Halal | Buffet | Kids-Friendly

Believe it or not this is the best Halal international buffet i've tried in town, this place is spacious with plenty of seats, the staff are fast and friendly. They do live up to their reputation of being award winning and it's a relief to know I can bring my malay/muslim friends here next time.

Carousel serves a complete range of seafood & crustaceans including a sashimi and sushi station ,not forgetting my favourites like lobster and crab claws , I could not stop going back for more servings.
I could easily say that anyone in the world could come in here and dine without a care (except for vegetarian and pricing)

Being seated, I had to work out an eating plan because if I'm not careful I would be too full and miss out something I really wanted to eat. So I mainly had lobster/crabclaws and sushi.

The Lobster meat was so good, phat and crunchy. Crabclaws were so refreshing tasting and the sweetness of the meat is really addictive as I consume one after another. The salmon sushis that I tried were beautifully sliced by skilled men welding the knives. Freshness, thick and soft texture as it slides down the throat with satisfaction

I walked past the Kebab/Indian station, the warmth radiance of the meat was so tempting, I'm pretty sure I'll be back again to invade (eat) "the other countries' cuisines". These are second-long moments I regret my diet because my appetite has significantly shrunken (but lost weight is good news!)

From the dessert stations , there are desserts, pastries and a chocolate fondue for that sinful indulgence.
I got myself a sweet and eggy creme brulee covered with crusty melted sugar, it was a really nice way to end the royal meal which I'm up to my neck at in terms of fullness. I don't have bulimia or anything similar, but I wished I could just regurgitate what I ate just so I can try the others. sorry , gross, I know.

This is truly a food lovers' paradise and definitely would come back again!
