Bestest breakfast ever! Smile Oct 31, 2013

And affordable too.

I've probably walk passed this place many years, but never once i thought to step in to take a look until one of my foodie friends swear by it.

Its located at the second floor and quite a cosy place.

I ordered the french toast with berry compote and the ginseng panna cotta.

The french toast was quite normal. Nothing really fantastic. It comes with chocolate, whip cream drips and maple syrup at the side.

The ginseng panna cotta is an interesting one. Its cream infused with ginseng and wolfberries served with a honey and chrysanthemum sorbet. The sorbet came melted.. not sure if i was there too early for the dessert or? Other than the presentation, i enjoyed the dessert more.

Recommended Dish(es):  Ginseng panna cotta

Spending per head: Approximately $30(Breakfast)

Comfort food Smile Oct 31, 2013

Always a fan of udon but couldnt find any good ones until my friend brought me to ikeikemaru as to her, i am a food snob. She wanted me to try to see whether its good enough as i am always saying there is no decent affordable Japanese food in Singapore.

This restaurant is situated near Mediya, somewhat inside the supermarket. The queue on the weekends is horrendous. The queue will start at 5.30pm and it will lasts till about 8.30pm. The food must be really good else why the queue, isnt it?

We were lucky and we were given a table despite the queue. Seated at the counter, and the friend started ordering the usual dishes she eats, while i settled with the hiyashi udon.

Its a cold noodle dish, the soup is not salty, and generous toppings. The udon is not the usual thick white udon but this udon is springy and blew my mind away. Its a simple dish but it brought instant joy.

Bestest MOS chicken! Smile Oct 23, 2013

Fast food never exist in my food list until i learnt the existence of the iced milk tea, their signature soups & the mos chicken. Had my first taste of chicken this year 2013 when i saw my colleague going to the Shaw outlet religiously. She offered me a bite and was shocked that i never eaten it before. After the first bite... I was hooked to it. Whenever i pass by amk hub, i will join the long queue just to buy a piece of the chicken.

It costs $2.70 per piece & if you buy 5, it will cost you $2.50. The seating in this branch is quite cramp. So i do takeaways normally.

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Restaurant | Chinese Soup

A friend introduced this restaurant to me, hoping that i will like their chinese soup. I find that there is too much msg in it and i still prefer the soups that my mum boiled for hours at home.

But this Samsui Ginger Chicken definitely aroused my tastebuds. Its so good that i asked her to order another plate for herself and i will finish for her if she is unable to. The chicken is cold, and when dipped into the ginger with the cucumber wrapped in the cabbage, its a taste of heaven. The concept is the same as the Koreans where they wrapped their BBQ meat in the lettuce.

This is the only dish i will order whenever i am at the soup restaurant, and my friend will order her usual soup.

Thumbs up for the coffee! Smile Sep 05, 2013

Had a photoshoot with the friends and we decided to chill at this cafe as it's a very hot day and everywhere else is crowded on a weekend. The cafe was very dark inside, the lights is not much help.

I ordered my usual homemade vanilla latte and a honey affrogato. The coffee in the affrogato is much better here as its less acidic and its smoother. However, the vanilla ice cream is not as good as another place. Love the honey crumble bits in it.
