delightful handmade noodles Smile Dec 01, 2012

Categories : Foochow | Hawker Centre

I am always a fan of handmade noodles and this is evidently one of the best stalls in Singapore! The price is very affordable- $2.50 and the serving is fairly reasonable with plenty of vegetables and meat and what I love about this handmade noodles is that the noodles are springy (just like maggie mee). The texture is cooked just right and the soup is also not too salty. Each bowl of noodles was slowly cooked and you can feel the effort put into as I felt like its a home made bowl of noodles filled with love. Such attitude towards cooking can hardly be replicated elsewhere when most hawkers are more focused on efficiency and this resulted in the taste being compromised. Many thumbs up!!!lollollol

Was at Cathay for movie with a group of friends and we decided to head for dinner after-that. It was my first time at Indulge and I really like the ambiance- makes me feel at home with the nice decor. I personally loved how nicely decorated the food was- you can really tell how much thought was put into it. The serving wasn't very small and the food really whetted my appetite. Thumbs up for everything- including the place!

Fabulous Teochew Porridge Smile Dec 01, 2012

Since my dialect group is Teochew, my family and I would often patronize this stall for the affordable teochew porridge. The stall is often distinguishable for its long snaking queue, especially during the weekends mealtimes. Therefore I would strongly recommend to visit the stall early- for dinner time to come by as early as 6pm since by 7plus 8 plus, the selection of food will be very limited given the high popularity. I really like the pork chop and the home-made fish cakes which are the best try! The fish is also freshly steamed though one will have to be patient and wait for quite a while for the fish to be cooked. The price is also very affordable with a budget of around 4 dollars if you were to order the fish and lesser if you do not order that.

Alluring Sea View Smile Nov 06, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Fujian/Heng Hwa | Seafood

As the name goes, it is a blissful moment to be having dinner and watching the sunset at the same time, by the sea. Even though it is situated at Changi Beach club, you need not have to be a member to visit the restaurant. In order to catch the sunset, i would recommend to reach around 6plus, when the restaurant has just opened; since you can get the staff attention easily and catch the alluring sea view!

Service is really good- since we reached early, we have a manager serving us! She was patient and gave us good advice and recommendation- we wanted to try the in house special crispy fried duck but she advised us not to take that since she was worried that it might be too big for the two of us. Luckily we heeded her advice since we saw the next table of eight ordering that and the portion is really huge!

Other than the amazing sea view, the restaurant really serves good Chinese cruise- Canton style. We had pork ribs, vegetables and stewed toufu with seafood. Even though we had requested for a small portion size, the serving was generous and I felt really full after that. The price was fairly reasonable- 10+ per person ( given 3 dishes only). I will definitely visit this place again and try their seafood!!lollollol

This is definitely one of my favourite hangouts in NUS due to its close proximity to the Kent Ridge Bus terminal. I was first brought there during my orientation camps for a late night supper and unlike some of my peers who love to frequent the prata shop or fong seng, i prefer to patronize this stall for their handmade noodles. My friends simply adored the za jiang mian ( mixed noodles with sauce) and for me I loved their milk tea, ban mian, ru rou mian- all Taiwanese local delicacies. The dao xiao mian is also awesome too! During lunchtime, it can a little crowded with students and working adults and outside the peak hour, I like how it can be an ideal meeting place for friends to just chill and enjoy the contemporary and classic chinese music blasted from the stereos. Depending on the crowd, sometimes you are required to pay at the counter straight away and on other times, the 'aunty' will just take our order straight away. The price is also very affordable, ranging from 4-5 dollars per personlol
