Hot plate E mee Smile Mar 03, 2013

Went for an outing at Marina Square today. We decide to have lunch here. Had craving for claypot, but upon joining the queue realised that the hot plate dishes seems good judging from the people ordering.

I had decided to go for the E-mee dish. For $5.30 we do get large meatballs - which I found to be very juicy and crunchy, vegetables, and pieces of chicken meat. The gravy a little salty, the noodle well cooked.

One thing though carrying the hot plate looking for a seat was very tiring though.

Fried carrot stick Smile Mar 02, 2013

This makes a good finger food. The carrot sticks from this stall tasted very crispy and texture very smooth. I got the freshest lot, the lot I got was just out from the hot frying wok. When I wanted to eat it I got to let it cool down a couple of minutes. lol

This is so delicious I decide to reach for another and another until I finished up the whole packet. Ended I rejoin the queue for another packet. I brought home the next packet to eat later. But the taste totally different, it became soggy and cold probably I had tied it up and tasted bitter too.

Orange peel sour plum  Smile Mar 02, 2013

One of my friends strongly recommended this drink to me. Just go up to the boss and tell him Orange peel sour plum. When I ordered the boss asked me if this is the first time I am ordering, told him yes. The he gave me some instructions how to drink. You are supposed to drink from the middle of the cup first, then add some more ice water, stir the bottom, drink some more and then add some more ice water. In the end ended with 3 drinks.

According to the boss, he uses Taiwanese orange peel and sour plums to make this concoction. This is good for sore throat and cough. Good price of $1.50 for 3 drinks.

"Rolling back the years....." caught my eyes when I was looking at the stall. There three flavours sold peanuts, red bean and coconut. Peanut butter unfortunately they did not have it. Decided to try one flavours each. The pancakes were chewy and tasty. I personally like the one with the coconut filling, the other two were just as good. For the price of 3 pieces for $2.00 and 60 cents per piece. Peanut butter 80 cents.

The crushed peanut nice and tasted like just roasted.

The red bean will not stick to your tooth when you bite it.

The grated coconut was fresh and juicy, and not too sweet.

Seems that this makan place has a lot best food here.

When the dish's being served I can smell the fragrance of the braised gravy. The boss very generous with the ingredients, fried fish, fried fritters, braised pork belly. The gravy tasted sweet with a tinge of spices. Mixed it with the vinegar, chilli sauce, cut chilli and special spicy greenish garlic you get a fulfilled meal. The base price for the dish is $2.50 extra fish meat $3.00.

However be there before noon to avoid disappointment.
