Hidden Gem at Yio Chu Kang area, Orchid Live Seafood Restaurant was an ideal option especially for Seafood lovers. Although the location was not that conveniently remarkable, yet it still attracted lots of patrons also dozens of celebrities, photos were visible on glass facade. Decor was stylish modern, comfy cozy in general. Service was rather attentive, staffs were all knowledge-able about their Menu.

Healthy version, ladyboss told us their culinary of seafood was less oil without adding msg. Just like their fish, it was steamed under high temperature with light soy sauce which tasty but not overpowering. Caught and cooked on the spot, freshness was undeniable. Effusively contained of protein and collagen which good for our skin, fish was my favourite choice always.

I had 2 bowls of this, just simply love the thick flavourful broth. The seafood essence was aromatic and delicious on the first sip, Teochew-style fully mushy like congee. Lobster had been cooked in rich soup, texture was soft yet tender. Help of spicy hot ginger was awesome, indirectly maximized the savour.

Normal looking for the dish, the mixture was stir-fried until perfection. Super light platter was refreshing, fragrance of garlic filled intensely within. Portion was average, enough to satisfy our taste buds too. Goodness of variety veggies was appreciating, simple homely.

Prawns were very fresh and juicy crunchy, easy to remove its shell. Straightforward without complicated, naturally sweetness of flesh and mildly saltiness of taste was delighting. What I can comment was we enjoyed for more than we paid, furthermore there was totally no service charge or GST.

To catch a cheap and quick lunch, my colleague recommended taking our meal here. Conveniently located at Chinatown Complex market, the stall was obviously to be seen and found. Occupied a small space, the stall was mainly selling pork-related cuisines. There was no queue and very prompt service, boss was friendly talkactive. I finally decided my choice on dried pork version, it looked fantastic attractive.

Juicy tender meat which was ideally placed in big bowl, texture of the ribs was consistently set by the marinating phase. And since it was a quick fry, the sauce retains their bright and attractive colour. Simple and great taste, the dish was the most traditional without overly seasoning. Generous gravy was given, one of the savoury signature creations at the stall. Ratio of fatness was just nice, pork belly was delicious and easily melted in my mouth. Portion of pearl rice was sufficient, served along with a decent soup. The set was rated at $5.00, additional $0.50 for rice. Reasonable price and tasted not bad, the place was worth a trip down definitely.

Having a usual dinner at Woodlands area with friend, we opted for Chinese cookery. There was no much peoples hanging around during night time, service was friendly prompt. Menu was extensive enough, photo inside was attractive with brief intro given. Humble-looking restaurant at coffee shop yet it presented high-class restaurant dishes, food was appetizing in presence while taste even better.

It was a very famous dish mimicking Sweet and Sour Pork, intentionally vegetarian version. Cut into decent sizes, each tofu cube was pan-fried until perfection. Not too oily or too hard, texture was firmly soft. Evenly coated, crisp layer was delighting. Generous gravy poured on top, taste was well-balanced of tanginess and little sourness.

My first time to try out this combination, appearance was shinny colourful and mouthwatering. Slight fiery spicy, eggplant was silky moist in texture. Thick pieces in golden brown with medium-high heat, potatoes were well-fried, classic taste with garlic fragrant. Best eaten with a bowl of rice, saltiness was all right and served warm.

Cracking and blending it, scrambled egg was fluffy tender. Seafood such as shrimps and squids were mixed along, authentic homely dish with petite burnt surface. Easy and straightforward taste, yet it was wonderfully impressed me. Went through deep-fried method, it was surprisingly without greasiness.

Mushroom wise, the dish was nothing fantastic. I must admit I don’t really fancy about it, plate was full of purely natural mushrooms. Starchy gravy was flavourful, thick with soy sauce aromatic. Portion was rather huge for two person, quite worthwhile to order. Overall, we felt satisfied to dine at the place. Price was inexpensive with great food quality, not bad experience.

Generally a luscious restaurant located at Chinatown area, Gum Gang Won meant Garden in the Diamond Mountain. Besides authentic Korean cuisine, it also served extensive North-eastern Chinese dishes. Décor was straightforward without complicated furnishing, sitting inside was a great comfy feeling. Service was really friendly attentive, helpful recommendation given too. Glad to come here early, there were more people coming right after us.

Side dishes served up, tiny portion in plate was arranged nicely on table. Free flow-style, it was allowed to be topped up countless time. Great collection of Korean unique delicacies, they were simply light yet excellent. Kimchi was the one I like the most, slight sourly with endless appetizing flavour.

Soup was heavy-flavoured and thick, pipping hot aromatic. Noodles were springy, similar to instant noodle yet in better texture. Cabbage, Seaweeds and Carrot added to provide extra crunchiness, soup was just nice without overwhelming sovoury. Presence of egg and pork slices at bottom was delighting, well-marinated and perfectly delicious to accompany noodles. The bowl was super heart-melting and warm, portion was rather generous. Price at $13.80, it was reasonable definitely.

An impromptu idea to have vegetarian food, it was nothing to do with religious purpose. Chinese Vegetarian cuisines might be a lot, mild in taste and catered to local flavour. Spotted a stall at corner, the sign board was stylish with an interesting name. Occupied a minor space, Menu was unexpectedly wide-ranged. Self-service basis, we waited upon ordering in front the stall. Well-maintained and arrangement was neatly hygiene, service was quick also.

Do you noticed it was a purely vegetarian dish, I cannot sense it was vegetarian food if by looking at its appearance. Whipped the fried meehoon, the plate was pipping hot fragrance. Ingredients were generously added, Vegan Fish Cakes, Vegan Pork, Egg, Beansprouts, Carrots and Veggies. Cooked until perfection, Meehoon was appetizing with decent amount of saltiness. Texture was just nice with appropriate soaking time before stir-fried, neither not too hard nor too soft. Simple straightforward to satisfy me, everything was mixed well to accompany each other. Portion was sufficient, price at $4.00.
