High-profiled stall at Chinatown Complex Market, Jin Tang was one of the stall with complicated menu board at storefront. Assorted hunting animal soups were sold here, some the dish I had never came across or heard before. I admitted I was not that adventure when choosing my meal, especially throwing weird animal into a bowl of soup. Boss was a middle-aged man, friendly and likes to joke. After his recommendation, I opted for a safer choice as chicken for my main dish.

There was no too strong herbal taste, naturally sweet aftertaste. Good to moisturize body organs and diminish physical exhaustion, it was the wonder of tonic chicken. Nourishment comforting, soup filled up my tummy and warmed my heart. Light decent yet flavourful, drumstick flesh was a generous serving. Just given a bowl of rice, my satisfied meal completed. Price at $4.50, it was best eaten during a raining day. Taste was delicious healthy, no harm rewarding myself a grateful soup. It reminded me my mum cooking, miss always.

Bustling lunch time, every stall in the coffeeshop was full of people. Quan Mian Hao acted to be innovative, not only selling solely Yong Tau Foo but also assorted extensive Food Menu. I picked my favourite selection from the varieties of pre-cooked ingredients, just told ladyboss what I want to eat will do. Self-service basis, we queued and waited for our turn. Lining up cleared fast, service was rather promptly fast.

Supposedly a healthier choice by nature, maybe the bowl looked not so attractive but the taste was quite nice. Savoury soup with dosed of yellow bean fragrance, light homely taste was impressive satisfying. Freshness of Tofu was indeed commendable, ordinary decent at the same time silky soft in texture. Ladyfinger, Fried beancurd skin, fish cake and meat ball was chosen along, harmonized of sweetness, saltiness and aromatic. I requested another small plate of starchy brown gravy, medley of tanginess when dipping into it. Well-accompanied thickly meehoon, overall was filling substantial for lunch. Price reasonably at $3.00, there was nothing to complain about.

Fried rice was what I rustled up always, not terribly impressive yet the simple taste was delicious. There were plenty variations when I came to the stall, pretty small with organized arrangement. Friendly boss recommended us his signature Fried Rice, and then we ordered it without thinking twice. Service was rather prompt, not too lengthy waiting time.

Every grain of rice was fragrant chewy, absolutely decent appetizing. Minced lots of garlic and threw in fresh prawns, rice was stir-fried evenly with egg. Neither too harden nor too mushy, texture was fluffy fibrous. Light soy sauce used was not that salty, good balance of mushy mess. Fulfilled my craving, it was perfect match along with ingredients. Price reasonably at $4.00, portion was just nice and filling.

Inspired by traditional Thai elegance, Sawadee Thai was actually started its business in Sembawang few years back and recently moved to more centralized location at Bugis. Offered extensive high-quality Thai dishes, patrons were always spoilt for choices of yummy authentic foods. Woody interior décor was adorned with unique stylish Thai furniture, everything was classic and gorgeous. Featured in “U-weekly” magazine, I came to know about the restaurant.

Freshly whipped up, pot was served in pipping hot. Significantly strong in flavour, soup was spicy-tangy while sharply sweet. Right balance of fiery sourness, strong note of lemongrass and lime leave was perfectly blended together. Seafood such as huge prawns, squids and fish were tenderly well-cooked. Tongue-numbing but very satisfying, portion was rather filling with a bowl of plain rice. The price was $15.00 for the soup, rather reasonable for me. It was really valuable to have a kick from savoury Tom Yum soup, sincerely and honestly.

^Vegan Feast^28/03/2014 Smile Apr 07, 2014

Located on second floor of Chinatown Complex, I discovered a delicious while wallet-friendly Vegetarian Stall. Travelers Palm Vegetarian was not a new stall, yet it was my first time heard of it. Occupied a decent space, Wide-ranged Menu was impressive. In spite of fuss-free Economy Mixed Rice, the stall was also selling extensive Ala-Carte dishes which cooked by chef on the spot upon ordering. Waiting time was acceptable, rather promptly service.

Main dish, Meehoon was springy and rich in flavour. Stir-fried until perfection, the mixture of assorted veggies and vegan meat was well-matched. Without darkening soy sauce, the taste remained fragrant and much straightforward humble. This plate of Meehoon can be served up to two persons, price was $6.00 for medium portion.

Loaded not only with the usual actors such as Tomatoes, Ladyfingers, Eggplants and Long Beans, but also sweet chunks of yam, gravy was thickly tasty. Curry was not that spicy or heavy, without excessively use of Coconut Milk and Curry leaves. Best to accompany our main dish, Meehoon soaked up fully in broth. Sizzling hot while the Claypot served, it was reasonably priced at $12.00.

Deep-fried till golden brown, the outlay was crisp funky. Buttery fragrance was obvious, well-coated with sinful fattening gravy. But it was not greasy at all, taste was so greatly nice. Curry leaf was to enhance the flavour, lettuce at the bottom as dressing. Price was $8.00, pleasant serving.

Pretty decorated, appearance was mouthwatering and attractive tempting. Tofu was pan-fried, texture was thinly crisp at skin and silky soft inside. Broccolis were put aside, definitely a healthy dish. Minced bread crackers were drizzled on top, sweetly crunchy, matched to plainly tofu faultlessly. Price wise, we asked for small version which costed $5.00. Overall, I was quite satisfied the food, service, environment even price. The place was undeniably a good choice for vegan, not bad.
