Went for dinner here a few times & I rather like the setting as the servers generally leave us alone unless we require any services. This is very pleasant as I don't like people hovering over me while I eat. They don't charge service charge too.
This time, I went for dinner with my boyfriend. We ordered 2 dishes:

yi fu mian. $8
The portion (small) is sufficient to fill 4 bowls. I love yi fu mian and will always order if the restaurant has it.
Taste was awesome! =D But just felt that the chef could use fresh garlic instead as the fried ones are very hard and tends to get stuck in my molars. (might just be me though). =/

nai bai in superior stock. $12
The portion (small) is really quite small for a vegetable-person like me. I also felt that this dish was alittle pricey for the portion.
I like it that they cook this dish with wolfberries which adds to the aesthetic appeal. =)
However, it wasn't superior stock at all, was just in e vegetable-flavored with abit of chicken stock, garlic was rubbery tasting. yuck! Would have preferred fresh garlic as well.

hightly recommended!!  Smile Apr 23, 2013

Was recommended by my friend to go and try so had quite high expectation as she was raving about it.

We were sitting outside was wasn't too warm as they have a standing 'air-con' just behind our table. So it was quite cooling. Overall, ambience was nice, not too noisy.
Went with some of my colleagues and ordered the traditional Hakta Ramen ($11). Before ramen was served, we were given a small bowl of white sesame to grind. I think it is quite a good way of 'buying' some time for ramen to be cooked, especially if it is peak hours.
Service was super fast! Ramen was served within 10 mins of ordering.
I poured the grind sesame seeds in which enhanced the flavour of the soup and the smell actually makes you hungry due to the sesame oil. The combination of pork bone soup, char siew, spring onions, black fungus and the to-die-for egg was simply wonderful!! Needless to say, I emptied the entire bowl. If I can lick the bowl clean, I would!
Will definitely recommend it!!

Currently, the shop is having a student promo of 10% off. However, it is not applicable to set meals.

Excellent food & service Smile Feb 09, 2013

Went for early reunion dinner with my family of 6. Despite the long queue, we were quickly seated. lol Excellent service!
As I don't like it when picture and the actual food differs by alot, I like how their menu highlights their chef recommendation dishes by listing the ingredients used and also describing the benefits of the dish.

One of our favourite dish - Roasted Duck with Ten Wonder Herbs

Loved the combined taste of the duck and the herbs. It is not too herb-y and has a taste of sweet in the dish. I always pour the sauce on the rice. YUMMY!! lol

Next up - Braised Assorted Mushroom with Broccoli

A very healthy dish with lots of broccoli, carrots and mushroom. The sauce is also very rich but it also means it is probably full of salt.

Soup of the day - Double-boiled lotus root soup

This has always been their soup of the day. Sometimes I wonder if the chefs are tired of coming up with new soups. :/
The soup is quite tasty. With generous portion of the lotus root, pork with soft bone, peanuts and bits of scallop.

Another of my favourite dish - Chinese Spinach with Superior Stock

A dish endorsed by the National Health Board. Need I say more? The stock is super yummy and not salty at all. Which means it can be drunk on its own like soup.

Hongkong Styled Steamed Fish Slices

A very simple dish. Slices of fish are thick!

Roast Lamb Meat Grassland Style

Comes in a sizzling pan! Tasted like mogolian meat. Very tender and doesn't have the strong lamb taste. Very tasty!

Lastly, Baked Fresh Prawn JiangNan Style.

Gangnam style? LOL.. Although this is a chef recommendation dish, I personally won't recommend this dish. They useking prawn which was quite impressive. But, maybe due to its size and the way it is cooked, the meat was quite dry and tough. sad Not very healthy as it was cooked in butter and wine.

Overall, a lovely reunion dinner meal. I was very full after eating so many dishes so didn't have space to try their Osmanthus Jelly Dessert which looks very appealing on the menu.

Went for supper at the hawker centre. It was still super busy & we had to wait for a table for 2!
Ordered the bee hoon as we didn't want a too heavy supper. We had ngoh hiang, spring roll and fish kind of ngoh hiang.

Bee hoon ($0.70): Nice & springy. Not too oily. smile
Loved the spring roll ($1) as it it filled with loads of vege. There is even long beans in it.. It was very crispy & the skin wasn't too thick.
ngoh hiang is handmade by the store so had quite high expectation of it. But, it was not superbly fantastic & cost a hefty $2!
fish kind of ngoh hiang ($1): I didn't try it but boyfriend love it! So, it should be petty decent.

We didn't try the chilli that comes with it as we don't take spicy food. But, there are bits of peanuts in it so it should taste quite nice as we see people going back to get more chilli.

Overall, I feel that this meal is too expensive. $4.70 for a simple economical bee hoon store.
Might try it in the morning & review.

Went for dinner with my boyfriend.
Had the Triple Treats promotion. We ordered the small grill set & Scallops Mussels Skewers (SMS) set for $14++. It comes with a glass of coke/sprite/iced lemon tea & a cup of mushroom soup.
Small Grill

There were prawn, squid, fish, a helping of fries and the usual vegetable of carrots and broccoli atop a large portion of 'fried rice'
Prawn: Very fresh! love the dressing on it.
Squid: Unfortunately, the squid tasted a little burnt and rubbery. sad
Fish: juicy! when you cut it, you can see the juice coming out..
Fries: normal. nothing to rave about. tends to go soggy very quickily.
Rice: there were bits of carrots in the rice! more servings of vegetables! yay!

Scallops Mussels Skewers (SMS)

As the title, scallops, mussels, fish skewer, a helping of fries and the usual vegetable of carrots and broccoli atop a large portion of 'fried rice'
Scallops & Mussels: quite fresh. they doesn't have the fishy taste unlike some clams.
Fish skewers: brushed on with chipotile sauce which is quite spicy for us. sad

Between the two mains, I prefer the Triple Treats.

Iced lemon tea

I don't like drink with gas so ordered the lemon tea. A refreshing drink after oily food. Has a slice of lemon and doesn't taste like canned ones.

Cream of mushroom

One word: FANTASTIC! Full of bits of mushroom! I would be a even happier girl if it comes in a bigger portion.

We even got to have a bird's eye view of the skating rink! Although it is quite faint, the music from the rink are nicer.. :/

Service staff were friendly and nice. They always have a smile on their faces. Overall, it was a superb meal. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
