Yong Tau Foo is the second Singaporean dish I like, my first choice is fresh fish soup (without msg). Yong Tau Foo is the second Singaporean dish I like, my first choice is fresh fish soup (without msg). I like the variety of yong tau foo, I can have my own choices of food either with soup or without it.

Whenever holiday mood is on, I would have late breakfast as well as late lunch. I walked awhile at Marina Square then proceeded to Raffles shopping mall yesterday. It was about 3pm and my stomach started to groan. I went straight to the foodcourt, browsed for my lunch, I settled with yong tau foo as they just took out some fresh ingredients. I could see their food were freshly prepared on the day. I picked 8 items plus a bowl of rice.

The stall owner would check with me for certain food was deep fried, would I prefer re-fry. This is good though as I want all food in soup and presumably less oil. I would say their items were considered big as 8 items were almost full bowl. First taste the clear soup, it was light to my liking. It was confirmed that their food was fresh as the stuff tofu was taste fine without sour, as I normally tasted it sour in most yong tau foo stalls at hawker centres, though the sour taste was acceptable.

Frankly I don’t mind their soup with msg as I won’t drink it anyway, rather I would like their chilli and sweet sauce are up to standard as I like to go with a mix of chilli and sweet sauce. So far so good, their sauces are taste fine to me.

I would return if I want to have yong tau foo again.
