I dine at Mayim regularly and the manager had actually recommended me the baked custard and peanut sauce bun today. I've never tried it before and it seems like this is one of the items on the "customers' favourite" menu. It was served freshly out of the oven and had a nice peanut smell to it. The outer layer of the baked bun is very thin and crispy. I loved the peanut sauce on the top layer. The crust is very soft and powdery. While it looked like it'd be very dry b/c of the peanut, it was actually relatively moist. The inner layer of the bun is baked custard which was very sweet.
Overall, I really liked it and would be having it again soon. The minimum order for this baked bun is 2 pieces and each piece costs only $1.40. Its pretty big and filling so it'd be a good idea to share one order with someone else.
