Since the new wing of Plaza Singapura opened late last year, I've been hearing a lot of good things about the new eating places available and decided to check out Hoshino Coffee with a good friend for a catch-up session before school started.

Although it specialises in coffee and souffle pancakes, we were both feeling peckish and decided to try the Lobster Bisque Soup Spaghetti, which was highly recommended by friends. And when it arrived, it was quite obvious why! Not only was the serving incredibly generous (for about $16 including GST and service charge), it came with large prawns and also lots of cheese sprinkled on the top, just how I like my pasta. Of course, I was apprehensive at first, since I've never tried Japanese pasta before (Isn't pasta italian food?!) but upon eating this, I have to say, the Japanese know their stuff ;)

The pasta was al dente and had just the right bite to it. Although I couldn't really taste lobster in the sauce, and found it a little strange that they added prawns to a lobster dish (seafood is not interchangeable!), it still tasted really delicious with the right amount of umami that the Japanese seem to always be able to deliver!

I would highly recommend this dish to pasta and prawn lovers, and the ambience was lovely for a nice lunch with a great pal! Although the dish is a little pricey at $16, the portion is generous enough for 2 small eaters to share, or just to order to share around with a group of friends.
