There’s actually a little Jakarta town in the heart of Orchard Road. I’m not exactly referring to Lucky Plaza if you’re thinking of that. It’s actually Jtown Cafe which is pretty well known as Cafe Kota Jakarta among the Indonesian community here in Singapore.Their signature not to be missed, is the Bakmie Ayam ($4) which is the Indonesian style chicken noodle. Their signature not to be missed, is the Bakmie Ayam ($4) which is the Indonesian style chicken noodle. It was served with a huge portion of chicken slices, a bowl of beef balls in the soup and a generous amount of noodles. The noodles were springy and the chicken slices are very tender and juicy with a tinge of fragrance from the sesame oil. The beef balls with the soup added flavour to it with its delicious texture and taste which isn’t too overwhelming.

For those who like a spicy touch, try the Black Pepper Bakmie Ayam ($4.50). Compared to the original Bakie Ayam, this is a very flavoursome dish as the chicken slices are marinated with the tasty thick black pepper sauce. I can almost feel the black pepper chicken slices melting in my mouth together with the noodles.

According to Rieky, the noodles are all home-made by themselves with no preservatives or fats added and it’s not use for more than 2 days. So you can enjoy your delicious bowl of Bakmie from Jtown Cafe every day.

If you’re here at Jtown Cafe, this is surely one thing you can’t miss which is the Pangsit Goreng ($2.50 for 3 pieces). It may just seem like any ordinary deep fried dumplings to you but the recipe behind it is actually being passed down from several generations. So what it’s served here may not have the same taste as compared elsewhere.

If it’s your birthday, come down to Jtown Cafe with a group of friends and you will be given a Martabak of your choice of toppings for FREE! What a great way to celebrate your birthday with delicious, mouth watering pancakes.

Do also check out their lunch set promotions where you can get a main course and a drink from $4.80 onwards. It’s surely very value for money and delicious great food over here at Jtown Cafe you should check out given the expensive food prices all around Orchard.
