I was delivering presents to my friend’s daughter’s 1st year, and we met up for lunch at Ang Mo Kio area.I saw a long queue for this stall so decided to check it out, we ordered Hainanese “White” Chicken Rice and Roast Chicken Rice.

The glossy boiled chicken was oily from the server’s heavy handed drizzling of sesame oil as he seems to be in a rush to clear the queue. Although the meat tastes well cooked and tender, I didn’t like how some of the meat (especially the bone area) had blood strains/stains.
The beansprouts underneath the chicken was literally dripping with oil. A pity because I tried some and they were crunchy.
Some parts of the roasted chicken was actually crispy , mainly it was very flavourful and tender but again unfortunately that same mistake of going overdone with the sesame oil ruined it for me.
The rice was lacking of the “chicken rice fragrance” , it didn’t taste as good as it looks. MAYBE this rice could use a little boost of sesame oil instead! And that’s what I did, drizzled abit from the oily chicken dishes and it did a little salvaging.

Despite the queue, either it’s overrated or it’s just a different case of personal preference.
