This outlet was different from their usual Cantonese/Shanghai cuisine, hence I wanted to give it a try. The ambience for this restaurant was casual and the food seemed pretty afforable. Their La Mian with Spicy Chicken, Preserved Egg And Cucumber in Sichuan Style ($11.80) caught my eye. I was really pleased with the presentation. This cold dish was basically springy handmade noodle served with cold spicy chicken, sliced cucumbers and diced century egg. There were alot of chicken pieces (which were well-marinated making it very flavourful), which was a delightful surprise as restaurants these days can be quite measly with their meat portions. Although I can't really eat spicy food, I really liked this dish as the flavours went well together and the cold noodles evened out the spiciness of the dish.
We also ordered the Marinated Pig’s Ear with Cucumber ($8.50). The pig's ears were crunchy, doused in chilli oil and sesame oil and served with some cucumber slices. This dish was okay to me... nothing bad about it but it's also something that I won't order again. It may just be my personal preference.All in all, this is a place that I'd definitely return to. Service was good and there was quick response from the staff there, who were really friendly and helpful.
