Some of the my nostalgic favourites are found in Old Town White Coffee. This is an area of comfort... the restaurant is decorated with old-fashioned looking furniture to retain the traditional atmosphere. Don't expect too much from their service - the aunties are not trained to be friendly or all that neighbourly towards you.Signature dishes are plastered on top of the counter if you don't have any clue on what to order. If you're looking for privacy, Old Town White Coffee is not the one for you

Signature dishes are plastered on top of the counter if you don't have any clue on what to order. If you're looking for privacy, Old Town White Coffee is not the one for you. With tables and chairs really close to each other, it is easy to listen to a stranger's conversation even if you don't want to.

Curry Chicken Noodles - SGD5.80
Rich and thick in curry, it almost taste like laksa only that the noodles and chicken are different. One can easily peel off the fatty skin from the chicken... the noodles was thick and delicious! The curry had a sweet twist to it and the aroma of the coconut oil used was extremely fragrant, causing me to have a really good appetite and gobble down the bowl of curry chicken noodles.

However, it was a little too oily and I wish they have drained the oil that was on the surface!

Asam Laksa -SGD5.80
It was a disappointing bowl as the broth tasted too diluted. Even though it is very spicy, there was no fragrance coming out of it. The prawns were freshly peeled but too little in portion.. and the noodles looked 'dead' as they hang lifelessly on my chopsticks. This isn't recommended.

Prawn rolls - SGD4.50
These 5 pieces of prawn rolls were deep fried and probably made in-house. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Sink your teeth into this crispy roll and you will definitely fall in love with it.. I would recommend this as an after-meal fix instead of a starter because it made me feel like I finished my meal with a bang!

Old Town White Coffee sells really awesome coffee and tea that are extremely thick and strong. Costing only $2.50 (Cold), $2.20 (Hot) respectively, I ordered the Yuan Yang (both hot and cold). I would recommend the cold one as it felt like there was more liquid as compared to the hot one.

Things to NOTE for OpenRicers
1. Make your order and payment at the counter as there will not be any waitress to serve you.
2. Try to sit near the entrance as the window seat is quite warm (too near the kitchen). If you're afraid of cold, then go ahead and sit at the innermost parts of the restaurant.
3. The loo is right outside the restaurant (near the NTUC Fairprice Xtra), so it is very convenient.
4. The stools are quite uncomfortable to sit on.. so if you're having long heart-to-heart conversations with friends, this may not be a very comfortable place to go to!
5. Do bring along a packet of wet tissue as the cutlery is placed on the table. There are too many people not washing their hands after visiting the loo nowadays!
