Been wanting to check this out after being listed as being one of the best chocolate cakes in SG. Made a trip specially to Bukit Timah for this. Been wanting to check this out after being listed as being one of the best chocolate cakes in SG. Made a trip specially to Bukit Timah for this. The cafe is kind of small with 2 4-seater tables a long bench that sits about 3 couples or so. Due to its size, it is not really conducive to enjoy a cup of coffee as you will see the place being filled kind of quickly and there will be others standing around waiting for seats.  There are 2 tables outdoors but are shunned due to the hot weather.
Now to the food and drinks.  There were about 8 types of cakes available if my memory did not fail me.  However I was intent on only trying the chocolate cake, after all, that is what this place is famous for.  The cake reminded me of another cake shop which has many branches all over Singapore and started out with only one kind of cake.  The taste was similar except that this cake appeared to have more fudge and was taller.
Coffee is always a good option when pairing with chocolate cakes.  This place has the usual varieties of coffee with both hot and cold options.  The cappuccino and iced mocha were of reasonable standard and went well with the chocolate cake.
Will I go back for the chocolate cake? Only if I am in the area.
