I've been to several events that had food catered by Stamford catering but never had the time to review it. Unlike specialized caterers, Stamford seems to have been catering for decades and serves to cater for large groups with simple dietary requirements. Their honey drumlets are small and easy to eat. The meat was still warm about 1.5horus after arrival and the meat was slightly sweet and though not tender, it was easy enough to peel off the bone.

Their curry puffs were a complete disappointment. Despite having a nice uniform crispy look exterior, it was 50% hollow! There was hardly any ingredients inside!

These halal siew mai tasted just like the typical pork siew mai and they were gone in an instant!

The fried yam cake was dry and miserable.

Alot of misses and the only hit was the honey drumlet. Even the mee goreng was very oily and tasteless. I've definitely had better experiences with Stamford Catering.

I ordered the healthier buffet menu B, with minor swaps of dishes. The ones highlighted in bold were the hot favorites that night

Personally, I loved all the dishes. However for the broccoli - the gravy could be slightly more flavorful in my humble opinion

Broccoli with mushrooms
Siew mai
Pan seared teriyaki fish slices - Consider opting for this instead of the usual sweet & sour fish
Honey baked chicken chop
Fu yong sausage egg
Gong bao prawn
Fried hongkong egg noodles
Singapore style fried rice
Vegetable slaw with cranberries and walnuts
Assorted cream puffs - The chocolate cream puffs were really good
Honeydew pudding
Ice lemon tea

Today a friend of mine is having house warming party at her new flat. She has catered buffet lunch from Stamford Catering Services. The Vietnamese Spring Roll with Spicy Peanut Dip 越南春卷拼辣花生 is actually deep fried spring roll stuffed with bee hoon. Tastes not bad but would prefer it to be crispy.

There is also Chilled Lychee w Mango & Crystal Grass Jelly for dessert which is quite refreshing for such a hot day, and tastes not too sweet too. The buffet also comes with Refreshing Lemon Barley Drink 鲜甜柠檬薏米冷饮 for beverage which has quite a unique taste. Overall the food is not bad and very filling.

After having this buffet dinner, I really doubt on their quality of food due to their usage of low-quality ingredients. It was so terrible that I cannot eat the second plate and I have to spend extra money to have my Mini Satay set at Lau Pa Sat Festive Market after attending workshop at Fundsupermart's head office.

The seafood item was the breaded fish nugget with tartar sauce. I wondered if I was eating fish or fish cake. It tasted more like chewy fish cake.

I had assorted local fruits such as water melon, pineapple, dragon fruit and honey dew.
Generally, the food was alright. For a cost of $5, I would not grumble much of the lousy food but one thing for sure was that I would not order such items.

When sweet sauce was spread over the carrot cake, the cake tasted perfect. The main dish was the Cantonese style Garlic Dory Fillet. The cook used Thai asparagus to fry with the Dory Fillet. It was an interesting dish as the asparagus did not contract in size after frying and the Dory was not smashed after the cooking.

The excellent dish was the assorted sushi. Though the sushi was not fully chilled when served, the sushi was an excellent one especially when wasabi, soya sauce and ginger were spread over the sushi.

I had an event to conduct the Bursary Award and required refreshment to be serve. As I had shoestring budget, I managed to order $3.50 tea reception buffet comprising of bee hoon, egg sandwich, spring roll, Thai Fish Cake and Mini Vegetarian Bun. I had the options of coffee and tea as beverage too. Most caterer allows only one option beverage option.

The caterer arrived on time for food delivery. The set up was presentable with flower décor and other promotional flyers. However, I noticed that the caterer did not add much water on the food tray which did not allow the food to heat up fast. In fact, the food was served cold.

On the tasting of the food, the bee hoon was still alright to eat despite it was not warm. The egg sandwich was good. The bread was soft and the magarine was sufficient as the bread was not soggy. The Thai Fish was not too spicy and yet it could add taste to the bee hoon. The disappointing was the spring roll. It could be the early frying of the spring rolls that the crispyness of the spring roll had lost its strength. The vegetable bun was soft but the vegetable were dark and not visible to be seen as vegetable. Suggest to use attractive colours like carrot, corn for the vegetable bun.

As for the beverage, the coffee was well served as it was hot.
The caterer arrived on time to pick up the utensils after the event.

This bento set was given after I attended a seminar. They have different compartment. Rice, gyoza, chicken wing, Saba fish and potato salad. Besides that, still have mango pudding as dessert.I like all the ingredients. The chicken wing is well marinated. The gyoza sauce also very nice. The only thing I don't like is the mango pudding. The texture really too soft and tasteless.
