This is my favourite tze cha place. Some of the must order dishes are roasted chicken, sweet & sour pork ribs and fish maw soup. The price is very reasonable. The roasted chicken is very tasty with nice crispy skin. The pork ribs got tender texture coated with nice sweet and sour taste. The place can be quite crowded during weekends so must come early. Recommended.

Once again, it was time for dinner !

My parent and I were troubled about what should we eat for our dinner...

Immediately, i took out my Iphone and went into OpenRice apps to search for nearby Zi Char restaurant.

The results shown included "Happy Kampong Seafood"

After reading the reviews, i recommended my parent to have our meal there.

Eventually we ordered their Thai Ayam Fish Head and Tofu with Gingko nuts

This savoury Thai Ayam Fish Head was fresh and it does not have any fishy smell.

The price of this Fish Head is $20.

Verdict : 4/5 !

This is the Tofu with Gingko nuts and some Xiao bai Cai

The Tofu was really awesome and its skin is very silky and soft.

It was so fabulous that i had unknowingly ate up three of it :X !

The price of the Tofu is around $10

Verdict : 5/5 !

I strongly recommend this two plate of foods !

It's definitely worth the price and worth the time spend on travelling down to Happy Village Seafood !

My usual favourite of pork ribs king with rice from this tze cha stall. The serving of the pork ribs with rice is quite substantial to fill up a hungry stomach. I got about 4 pieces of nicely fried pork ribs that stir-fried with the sweet & sour sauce together with a generous serving of rice for only $5.00. It is delicious yet very value for money. There are other worth trying dishes like their seafood hor fun and fried rice.

This is my regular hangout particularly on those days when i am unusually hungry and wanting a full dinner.

We came back on a Sunday evening for an early dinner. After glanced through their menu, we decided to stick with our regular order of the Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs King ($8.00) and ordered halve of the Crispy Fried Chicken ($8.00) to have it with rice. We ordered an extra plate of rice to share.

The Crispy Fried Chicken has always been one of our favourite dishes here. Halve of the bird is of the right portion to be shared amongst 2 pax. It is of the size of a spring chicken. The skin of the chicken was well fried to give it the a nicely crisp texture. That thin layer of crispy skin tasted really good if eaten alone. The chicken meat has gotten its tenderness and juiciness intact. It was served with a small saucer of the mixture of pepper and sauce to be used as a dip for the chicken. I tried it but do not quite appreciate it hence would very much prefer to go without it.

The standard for the Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs King is still consistent. It tasted just exactly how we liked it but it will be even better if there was a little more sauce to be used to mix the white rice.

We enjoyed our dinner very much.

This is a memorable dinning moment for me because we were there on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year for an early dinner at 5.30 pm. I have been a regular customer of Happy Kampong for quite a long time and i have yet to be disappointed. There are always new surprises beneath their dishes each time. The Sliced Fish in Sweet & Sour Sauce were stir-fried with red pepper, green pepper, onion and cucumber. The sauce has gotten a good balance in between the sweet and the sour. It tasted rather appetizing and complemented the white rice pretty well. The portion was good enough to be shared amongst 2 pax even if ordered extra rice.

My partner prefer the Pork Ribs King to the Sliced Fish in Sweet & Sour Sauce somewhat. The pork ribs were deep-fried then coated with a sauce mixed of oyster and tomato. It has got a tinge of sweetness but not overwhelmed. The texture of pork ribs was very tender with its juiciness still intact. It was so flavorful and prompted us to get an extra plate of rice.

A small saucer of belachan chilli was served but i left it almost untouched as the dishes tasted good on its own hence does not required the enhancement of extra sauce.

This has always been our favourite hangout for simple dinner. Strongly recommended.

Other than the silver fish fried rice, this is another personal favorite. The fried hor fun got a distinct wok hei and that is the key to any fried noodle or fried rice. Recommended a few friends to this place and they have been a supporter since then. Please avoid the dinner time and weekends as the waiting time can be 40 minutes or more.

Happy Kampong served one of the nicest fried rice in Singapore. Happy Kampong served one of the nicest fried rice in Singapore.

They have the normal fried rice ($3.50), the silver fish fried rice ($4.00) and the 'kailan' fried rice with crab meat ($6.00) for you to choose. My all time favourite gotta be the silver fish fried rice. The silver fish were deep fried till rather crispy and it went along really well with the fried rice!

The moment when this box was opened, the aromatic fragrance of a good fried rice could be detected.

Their fried rice is always at the right texture with distinctive wok hei, and most importantly they are generous with the ingredients. If you have doubt, just look at the amount of silver fish scattered on my fried rice!

This silver fish fried rice is strongly recommended.

Try it, to believe it.
